Wild Walks and Wild Remedies: August 2025 We walked up and across and into an infinite valley on the south downs. We collected wild plums, blackberries, marjoram and thyme. We toured the farm harvesting fresh produce for our pizza night. We made thyme syrup cocktails. We practiced yoga in the morning sun. Walked in silence. Sat in silence. Sipped on rose tea listening to her pulse and learning to observe. We met the medicine plants of the garden. Sweet, salty, bitter… we made herbal infused vinegars and herbal salves from calendula, comfrey and lavender. I’m reminded of this quote by Robert McFarlane who writes on walking through England: “Paths are the habits of a landscape. They are acts of consensual making. It’s hard to create a footpath on your own...Paths connect. This is their first duty and their chief reason for being. They relate places in a literal sense, and by extension they relate people.” Paths of people, plants and landscape forever intersecting. This weekend felt like a celebration of this way of coming together. Community, land, care and curiosity. Thank you to this wonderful group. Thank you to @rural.rambles for this collaboration. Thanks to @joshuaadickinson @jamie.hughman and @goatgrid And a big thank you to @leoraab for this video to capture it all. We will be back in Spain for the next edition of Wild Walks and Wild Remedies from the 28th-30th of November. More details coming soon… 🌾 #wildwalks #foraginguk #herbalmedicine #herbalmedicinemaking #walkinguk #wildplants #wildremedies

Very excited to be returning to @goatgrid to cook lunch on Sunday 14th September. I worked here part time in 2023 learning about agroforestry and growing incredible fruit and veg. To see it transform and grow into what it is today is incredible and testament to Caspar and Josh’s hard work and knowledge. Growing and eating many things I hadn’t heard of before working there and at @namayasaifarm was such an eye opening experience. It led to me going to live in Japan last year and inspired what has become Grounded Table thus far, for which I am eternally grateful. I can’t wait to walk around the garden, pick and then cook with whatever they have growing in what seems to have been a year of bumper crops - every cooks dream. The menu is £50 - to book follow the link in my bio
