My extended family has been going to the same beach for over 40 years. Some of us never miss a year, while others join every few years—but the tradition has always stayed alive. Last year I had the joy of bringing my husband and son for the very first time, and it was absolutely magical. We caught up with family, soaked in some downtime, and watched the cousins laugh and play together.
One of the most special moments for me was watching Flinn discover the beach I first fell in love with decades ago. Our trips don’t have to be luxury to be meaningful—it’s the shared memories that matter most. Seeing him explore, collecting shells with my mom just as my Grammie once did with me, was a full-circle experience I’ll never forget. Walking the same stretch of sand my Grammie walked still means the world to me.
We go back next summer and I can’t wait!

Our honeymoon in San Juan 🇵🇷 was absolutely beautiful! We stayed at a hotel with a small private beach but chose not to do an all-inclusive because we wanted to dive into the island’s culture. No shade at all to all-inclusives—sometimes the goal is full relaxation, beach time, and zero decisions, and that’s perfect too!
One of our favorite stops was El Morro, the historic fortress and national landmark. We love packing our trips with history, food, museums, and culture.

Big changes are happening in our household! Flinn just started preschool, and I officially launched my travel advising brand, Go Adkison. ✈️
This new venture feels like the perfect fit for this season of life. My background as an event manager allowed me to take care of people during their most important milestones—making sure every detail ran smoothly behind the scenes was something I truly loved. While I’ve stepped away from late nights in the event world, I still have that same passion for helping people create meaningful memories.
