✨️The Dance Of Two Galaxies ✨️ Milky Way and Andromeda future possible Collision. In a celestial ballet of cosmic proportions, the Milky Way and Andromeda galaxies waltz through the boundless expanse of space. Over aeons, their gravitational embrace has drawn them closer, an inevitable collision of titanic forces. All galaxies move through space-time, interacting with each other... Scientists have calculated that in a few billion years, approximately 4, a collision will occur between Milky Way and the Andromeda galaxy due to the push from mutual gravity and that of dark matter... It will be an event lasting 2/3 billion years, during which there will be some extreme phenomena, but not those we might imagine... Celestial bodies are very distant from each other... It will be more characterized by interactions with gravitational and magnetic fields... There will be a significant change in shape, becoming a single large Elliptical Galaxy, and possibly the Triangulum Galaxy will also join this collision. Let’s take a look at a NASA simulation of the event!!!! Galactic collisions are commonplace in the Universe, and we ourselves have had episodes of collision with dwarf galaxies in the past. In this celestial chaos, there is a quiet majesty, a profound reminder of the intricate dance of the universe. Through eons of evolution, galaxies collide, reshape, and emerge anew. A reminder that change, even on the grandest scales, is an integral part of the cosmic narrative. 🎯Follow @go_atomico for more amazing astronomy and astrophysics contents! ☆•☆•☆ 🤝 Partnered post with @modernsciencex & @glamour_physics ☆▪︎☆▪︎☆ 🌐Credit clips used in editing : SaltyMikan ( YouTube) NASA SVS NASA; ESA; Z. 👉To study dark energy’s effects over the past 11 billion years, DESI has created the largest 3D map of our cosmos ever constructed, with the most precise measurements to date. This is the first time scientists have measured the expansion history of the young universe with a precision better than 1%, giving us our best view yet of how the universe evolved. 🤩This incredible 3D Galaxy map of the universe contains 14.7 million galaxies, All of these galaxies are in their accurate position in the universe as seen from Earth. By the end of this incredible mission, 40 million galaxies will be charted, revealing the breathtaking structure of the observable Universe. Collaboration with @scienceoftheuniverse 🙏A huge thanks to @fiskeplanet and @cuboulder for letting us explore and experience the cosmos like never before!🤩 🙏Thanks for reading this post.🙏 🎯Follow @go_atomico for ATOMICO’s curious adventures through Space and Time, and learn more about astronomy and astrophysics along the way. 3D map video credit: Fiske Planetarium, CU Boulder and DESI collaboration) 🎯Follow @go_atomico 🎯Follow @go_atomico #space #universe #darkmatter #darkenergy #jwst #jameswebbspacetelescope #cosmos #darkmatter #astrophysics #relativity #alberteinstein #universe #galaxy #galaxycluster #galaxies #astrophysics #go_atomico

A full day on Mars: captured by NASA’s rovers and landers. From a quiet sunrise at 5:30 a.m., through dusty Martian noon, to the rare blue sunset and the stillness of night, this is what a sol on the Red Planet looks like. This sunrise was imaged by NASA’s InSight lander on Sol 145 (April 24, 2019) using its robotic arm camera. A reminder that even on another world, every day begins with light. The Universe is full of mysteries… and these are the 3 biggest ones. 🕳️ Black Holes: Regions in space where gravity is so powerful that not even light can escape. 🌠 Dark Matter: Invisible matter that makes up about 26% of the universe and helps hold galaxies together through gravity. ✨ Dark Energy: A mysterious force that makes up nearly 70% of the universe and drives its accelerating expansion. Together, these unknown cosmic forces make up most of the universe, while everything we can actually see is only a tiny fraction. The more we explore space, the more mysterious it becomes. 🙌Follow @go_atomico for more amazing astronomy videos! The 3 Most Spectacular Astronomical Events in May 2026 You Don’t Want to Miss! On the night of May 5 and 6, the Eta Aquariids meteor shower will reach its peak. It is one of the year’s most impressive meteor showers in the Southern Hemisphere, producing up to 50 meteors per hour streaking across the sky. For the best viewing experience, find a dark location with clear, unobstructed views. On May 20, a stunning conjunction of Venus, Jupiter, and the Moon will appear in the evening sky. A thin crescent Moon will join the dazzling Venus and Jupiter in the constellation Gemini, creating a beautiful celestial display. On May 31, a rare Blue Moon will illuminate the night sky with its bright glow. This Full Moon will also be the smallest full moon of 2026. ✨Are you interested in more space, astronomy, and astrophysics-related content? ✅If yes, then follow 👉 @go_atomico now!! May’s night sky offers a beautiful mix of subtle and spectacular sights. The Full Flower Moon on May 1 appears slightly smaller as a micromoon. Around May 6, the Eta Aquariids meteor shower—linked to Halley’s Comet—peaks, bringing fast streaks of light before dawn. On May 20, a crescent Moon aligns with bright Venus and Jupiter in Gemini. The month ends with a rare Blue Moon on May 31, also a micromoon. Tips: Watch from a dark location, check clear skies, and allow your eyes to adjust. No telescope needed—just look up and enjoy! ✨ ✨Are you interested in more space, astronomy, and astrophysics-related content? ✅If yes, then follow 👉 @go_atomico now!! The Dark Energy Spectroscopic Instrument (DESI) has produced one of the largest 3D maps of the universe by measuring the positions and distances of tens of millions of galaxies and quasars. By mapping how these objects are distributed across space and time, scientists can trace the expansion history of the universe and investigate the nature of dark energy, the force driving cosmic acceleration. The map also reveals large-scale structures like cosmic filaments and voids, helping researchers better understand how matter—including dark matter—shapes the universe’s evolution and overall structure. ✨Are you interested in more space, astronomy, and astrophysics-related content? ✅If yes, then follow 👉 @go_atomico now!! The Lyrids meteor shower peaks April 22–23, producing about 15–20 bright meteors per hour under dark skies . Best viewing is after midnight to dawn, when the sky is darkest and the radiant in Lyra is higher . Tips: Find a dark location, let your eyes adjust for 20–30 minutes, and look slightly away from Lyra for longer streaks. No telescope needed—just patience and a clear sky. ✨Are you interested in more space, astronomy, and astrophysics-related content? ✅If yes, then follow 👉 @go_atomico now!! Wormholes are hypothetical tunnels in spacetime predicted by Einstein’s General Relativity. They could connect distant points in the universe, acting as shortcuts. Instead of traveling vast distances (like 10 light-years), a wormhole could reduce the path to something much shorter, allowing fast travel without exceeding light speed. This means you reach destinations quicker by shortening distance, not increasing speed. However, no experimental evidence of wormholes exists yet, so they remain a theoretical idea. ✨Are you interested in more space, astronomy, and astrophysics-related content? ✅If yes, then follow 👉 @go_atomico now!! First, applicants must be between 9-18 years old. Please visit /pages/our-give for specific information and forms to apply! For ATOMICO, we have embarked on a slightly different mission. When we boiled down most of the problems from social, environment to health it came down to one big problem - education (or the lack thereof). In order to solve the big challenges ahead we need a population that embraces science and not shun it. We need a society that is actively doubling down on funding science and general education, not making huge cuts. While we may appear to be a beverage company that is a small part of what we're up to... We're making learning about Space and science fun, engaging and moreover accessible to all. Our content regularly goes into the realm of viral on social media platforms, because the reality is that people do want to embrace learning when given the opportunity. 1% donated to STEM-based education in partnership with NASA Rocket and Space Camp.
