Come grab a Puzzle Pendant from Ruffles and start your Festival Sidequest 🌺 Puzzle Pendants are 'Ice-Breaker' meets 'Scavenger Hunt'. Each necklace is a unique puzzle piece and your match is somewhere out there on the festival grounds - and it's up to you to go find them 👀 You can find Ruffles handing them out from 7-9pm Friday at The Heads or 11am-1pm Saturday by The Pines with their glowing treasure chest (see slide 6). Outside those times, you'll have to track them down on the festival grounds - spot the glowing chest, quest marker (slide 7), or honestly just screaming Ruffles as loud as you can has worked in the past 😂 Each pendant will have 4 matches, as well as potential matches from previous years, so be sure to PACK YOUR OLD NECKLACE too! So WHAT was Wonderverse? A big part of the magic was that no one fully knew what Wonderverse was before stepping inside - and honestly, that made sense. We were playing with a medium that was pretty unique: immersive theatre with thousands of responsive LEDs all in an airport hangar. The basic premise was akin to a reverse escape room. Instead of trying to break out, you had to connect your way into something called the Beacon. It started in the most ridiculous way possible: a Severance-hallway-style entrance, live actors, and a corporate-sounding voice praising the Beacon because it never changed. You put on headphones, heard the soothing AI voice… until static cracked through and Nova emerged — inviting you to break free and enter the Grounding Zone. From there, you took a breath, acknowledged the land, and eased into movement. When you made your first connections with others, the playground literally came alive — thousands of LEDs reacting to your presence and collaborative play...and all leading to unlocking the Beacon and a big dance party. And just when it felt like we hit the peak, the lights cut out. Because the real key to the Beacon? It was inside of you all along. The voice of the Beacon explained that we hid puzzle pieces (thanks to GoMingle) in people's lanyards that nudged people to find a match and spark new connections. For Reset, this really speaks to our core thinking that our work is to affirm, not to change. And because we’re us (read: extra), the journey didn’t end there: after the experience, YZD helped us build a literal playground after the playground — mini-golf, games, cozy corners — which was an intentional move to enable some of those loose connections made in the experience actualize immediately. Huge love to our collaborators and the incredible humans who made Wonderverse come alive.
