Congratulations to Nora Ahmed, our incredible Legal Director! There is perhaps nobody more deserving of this award than Nora. One of the nation’s most innovative, brilliant legal minds, Nora has trailblazed new legal pathways in every area of the law we work within. From fighting back against ICE’s unlawful crusade against immigrants to ensuring justice for victims of police violence, Nora has set precedent and paved the way for other attorneys to join these legal battles and follow suit. Nora is one of the only attorneys we know who repeatedly drops everything she’s doing, gets in her car and drives 6 hours to rescue clients from ICE detention when release orders come through. She is directly responsible for saving lives and never stops fighting injustice. She is a living legend. She is a powerhouse. She is an icon. Congratulations Nora! #icon #justice #aclu #congratulations #neworleans

We want to thank everyone who joined us for the Alliance Conference 2025 in San Pedro, Belize. The presence, insight, and energy of all attendees made this gathering a meaningful space for reflection, learning, and connection.
We’re especially grateful to the session leads, moderators, and panelists who brought wisdom, honesty, and bold vision to the table. From equity-centered fundraising to systems transformation, we helped shape conversations that matter.
Let’s keep building together. 💡🌍

🌟 Celebrating Progress for Our City’s Youth & Families!🌟
Did you know that since 2019, @neworleansyouthalliance@nolacypb and the team at OYF have partnered to develop and implement New Orleans’ Youth Master Plan? We’re proud to share just a few of the powerful wins that are making a real difference in the lives of young people and families across our city. ⚜️
Check out a few of the Wins from the Youth Master Plan⬇️
👶🏽 New parent support comes through Family Connects, which provides in-home support to new parents—ensuring every family gets a strong start from the very beginning. This work is carried out with great impact through @nolahealthdept
🗣️ Youth voices are being heard like never before, through opportunities like the Mayor’s Youth Advisory Council, CYPB Youth Planning Board, and positions of leadership on several city boards and commissions. ✨
🚍 Getting around is now easier—with the Opportunity Pass (which recently got approved for Year 2🙌🏾), youth can now ride RTA buses, streetcars, and ferries *for FREE*. That’s access to education, jobs, and community without barriers. ✨ @rideneworleans@neworleansrta
These wins are only possible because of the dedication of our community partners, families, and young leaders who continue to show up and speak out. 💪🏽
Let’s keep the momentum going—for our youth, for the future@of New Orleans. ❤️⚜️
