Meanwhile in France @arkhane_asylum has released a totally cool role playing text game METRO 2033! It’s the result of many years of creative effort and diligent work, of sheer enthusiasm and true passion for the grim and romantic world of Metro 2033 that I have created 20 years ago and that since was enriched and enhanced by a lot of people more talented and dedicated than myself. Such as the team behind this role playing game.
Metro 2033 seems to be a perfect setting for all RPGs and text RPGs in particular, so it is really curious that this game is the first one getting developed and making it into publishing. But maybe it was worth all the waiting - since the outcome is so cool. And I am really flattered that it is this game that adds itself to the family of other great and imaginative transmedia projects set in the world of Metro 2033.
What I particularly like about text RPGs is precisely that they play with your imagination, giving you only as few imagery and pre-conditions as necessary to allow your own creativity to fill in the rest. As well as in the literature, you are co-creating this world, this journey, by imagining it - out of letters. This, to me, is pure magic.
