A classic left bank Bordeaux for Boxing Day. When people talk about left and right bank Bordeaux it’s from the perspective of looking out to sea. The left bank is predominantly Cabernet Sauvignon and the right is Merlot. They may be neighbours but they are very different wines. Chateau Lagrange is owned by Suntory, a Japanese liquor giant and is a third growth wine. I hope you all had a great Christmas and opened something special. If you drank something great and want to know more about it let me know in the comments. #wine #bordeaux #education #winelover #winetasting #wineenthusiastlife #christmas

Zuma’s wine cellar in Bangkok. In hot countries every big restaurant has a temperature controlled cellar to keep the wine from spoiling. Thai restaurants also seem to love french wine as there was a lot on every wine list. We were having sushi but people didn’t want to drink just white wine so we had a delicious Pouilly-Fuissé and a red Beaujolais. With fish you’d think that white wine would be best with fish but a chilled red like Beaujolais work too. The grape is Gamay and it comes from the south of Burgundy. #wine #winelover #winetasting #zumabangkok #wineenthusiastlife #education #learning #burgundy #beaujolais

Want a cheap and reliable alternative to Champagne? Well, a French Crémant could be just what you’re looking for. The three Crémants are from Burgundy, the Loire valley and the Alsace region. All three of these wines were under 7€. #wine #winelover #winetasting #winetime #winoclock #education #learning #Crémant #champagne #aperetif

Have you ever tried the grape Garganega? This wine is from a small area called Soave in North Eastern Italy. The better wines will have ‘Classico’ on the label. This means the grapes all come from a designated area where the quality of them is of a high standard. It’s a fantastic aperitif. It has a mineral character with ripe citrus and stone fruits. You’ll often find that putting a cool jacket out of the freezer on a light white wine like this will chill it to the perfect temperature in about 15 minutes. It’s wine o’clock! #wine #winelover #winetasting #learning #education
