To celebrate #WorldTheatreDay we want to celebrate some of the remarkable shows, venues and designers in the UK that have choosen GLP How can one family be so popular? GLP’s impression X5 Series Continues to Make Its Mark Across London’s Theatre scene The GLP impression X5 LED wash series has steadily become a familiar presence across West End productions and major London venues over recent years. London-based Sparks Theatrical Hire has been a key driver of this momentum, supplying significant numbers of X5 fixtures into theatreland. At the same time, White Light and PRG continue to expand their inventories, ensuring strong availability of the platform across drama, musicals and large-scale live productions. Recent West End credits underline the fixture’s versatility. On Guys and Dolls at the Bridge Theatre, the X5 Series supported immersive staging and bold colour shifts within the venue’s flexible performance space. The fixtures have also featured on Standing at the Sky's Edge at the Gillian Lynne Theatre, helping shape the production’s evolving atmospheres across different eras. Family audiences have seen the technology in action on Paddington The Musical at the Savoy Theatre, while the high-fashion energy of The Devil Wears Prada demonstrated how comfortably the X5 range moves between subtle theatrical tones and high-impact, runway-inspired looks. A Fixture Choice Across London’s Major Houses Beyond individual productions, the impression X5 platform has found its way into many of the capital’s flagship venues. Organisations including the National Theatre, Southbank Centre, English National Opera, and other major venues have all selected the system as part of their lighting setups and upgrades. In the dance world, the English National Ballet has also chosen GLP’s X5 fixtures, where smooth fades, accurate colour rendering and near-silent operation are essential. Taken together, the widespread uptake across rental houses, West End productions and major cultural institutions reflects a clear pattern: the X5 Series, built around GLP’s Lime LED technology and its exceptional light quality, has become a dependable wash solution for London’s theatre community.
