Real DJs DON’T NEED LAPTOPS. I know, but hear me out:
Whilst my DJ controller is an all-in-1 system (no laptop needed), having my laptop in front of me made DJ-ing a lot easier and convenient.
Principally, I’m against taking easy routes and short cuts when DJ-ing. I did it on this occasion to know and feel the difference between DJ-ing with and without an interface that displays all my tracks and their BPMs.
I’ve gotta admit - once you DJ WITH a laptop, you just can’t go back.
I plan to ditch the laptop! For audiences that are audiophiles and proper ravers, a true DJ’s authentic talent is seen without the need for laptop convenience.

I applied the feedback of my previous post about DJ Gig 11 (I created a ‘Networking Playlist’ that would allow me to network while occasionally leaving the decks unattended).
Things were working just fine at this event.
…until hot Japanese food was served 🤦🏼♂️ I gave in, and asked one of the restaurant staff members to fill in for me so that I could indulge myself in their expensive 3-course dinner.
The staff member voluntarily played my music using my USB drive and I thanked him. That was a real save 😅.
So, if you were starving and given the choice between FOOD and PERFORMING, what would you choose? 🤔
Let’s just hope I don’t have to choose next time..
