Before Christmas, we shared some big news. Glossop’s new creative workspace is opening in early 2026 and now we’re inviting expressions of interest. The Glossop Creates Hub will bring together studios, hot desks, a Library of Things, a zine + art book library, meeting and workshop space, and a public gallery - all inside the Municipal Building. A long-awaited home for making, learning, collaborating and connecting. A space shaped by and for Glossop’s creative community. Whether you’re interested in renting a studio, hiring a room, exhibiting your work or simply finding out more, we’d love to hear from you. → Register your interest by completing the Expression of Interest Form - link in bio ✨ Open Day – come and see the spaces You’re invited to join us for an open day on Friday 16 January 2026, 2pm–7pm, to explore the building, see the spaces in person, and find out more about how the Hub could work for you. This Sunday: Live electronic music set from @lo_five_ with guided meditation from @claresavory , followed by an all encompassing sound bath filled with bowls, gongs, monochord and percussion… These are brand new events blurring the boundaries between electronic, classical and traditional music. We’re seeking new ways to rest and relax by leaning on cutting edge neuroscience techniques of sound therapy and meditation. We’re qualified, experienced and insured to run these events. You’re in safe hands. What to expect: 16:00-17:15 Music + Meditation: Intro of suggested guidelines/posture/what to do when the mind wanders. 45 min live set with Lo Five, guide meditation suitable for beginners and advanced meditators, broken down into 4 different techniques and scenes over the course of the set. Time for mini breaks, sip of water, readjust your position. Time to unwind and ground yourself before the next course. 18:30-19:45 Immersive sound bath Introduction into posture, what to do if you’re struggling to settle or worried about falling asleep. Lie or sit back, close your eyes if you’d like to, and allow your attention to rest on the sound of Himalayan singing bowl, gongs, Crystal bowls, Monochord and percussion. We’ve an hour long session today, longer than our usual group experiences. Some people enter a flow or dream-like state, others just simply feel well rested. You’ll be close enough to feel the vibrations of the instruments in your body, a sensation that allows you to experience music beyond words. Bring your own mat, blanket and pillow if you wish, or we have a few to borrow if you get there early enough. This is a really special event, in a brilliant location. Bring a friend or partner, this is what quality time together means 🎁 Ambient warm up tunes will be provided by @antagonistuk 👏 All the early bird tickets have sold out for both events, so jump on quick to bagsy yours at FeelingSound.co/Services This event is situated in a warm and cosy scout hut, nestled on the edge of the Peak District National Park. Old Glossop is a great spot for a walk earlier in the day, and plenty of pubs and cafes nearby for a bite to eat between sessions 💚

EXHIBITION ANNOUNCEMENT 📣 Above @glossopmarkethall in @theoldtownhallglossop @my_life.on.film National Parks Identity Exhibition focuses on the identity of National Parks, examining how each location carries its own character through topography, flora, fauna, and atmosphere. Shot entirely on film, the work spans the UK’s Peak District and Lake District, the national parks of Spain, and iconic American landscapes including Yosemite and Joshua Tree National Park in California. Even for viewers who have never visited these places, the images offer a sense of their distinctiveness revealing how no two parks share the same visual or emotional language a project across many years on film

EXHIBITION ANNOUNCEMENT 📣 in the main exhibition space @theoldtownhallglossop above @glossopmarkethall The beautiful and ethereal work of @lucy_ridges Shallows uses a method of layered cyanotype printing to create double exposures, drawing on images from Lucy’s archive, both old and new. Within the work, the identity of the model is intentionally obscured, allowing the images to function as reflections not only of the artist but also of the wider audience. The layering process, built up gradually over time, mirrors the way memory, presence, and perception intertwine, inviting viewers to pause, reflect, and uncover unexpected connections. Lucy Ridges is a visual artist and photographer based in Macclesfield, specialising in analogue photography and traditional mark-making. Over the past decade, her work has explored representations of the female form through experimental processes including cyanotype printing, multiple exposure, photopolymer gravure, and hand colouring. Her practice examines the relationship between the human body, nature, and the cosmos, embracing the tactile, unpredictable qualities of analogue methods. Lucy holds an MA in Photography from Manchester Metropolitan University and a BA (Hons) in Fine Art from the University of Central Lancashire. She lectures in Photography at the University of Salford and has exhibited widely across the UK, including at The Lowry, HOME Manchester, Bankley Gallery, and Lumen Crypt, London. She has also undertaken artist residencies in Iceland, La Gomera, the Isle of Skye, and Cornwall.
