🎺 NEW GUEST EXHIBITOR! 🎺
We are so thrilled to welcome stained glass artist Frans Wesselman to The Gloucestershire Guild.
Having from early on been interested in art, Frans trained as an art teacher in the Netherlands. He had an opportunity to live in the Republic of Ireland for a while, but struggling to earn a living, moved to Great Britain. Frans has worked here as a painter and printmaker, doing odd jobs to make ends meet in the beginning.
He is now a member of the Royal Society of Printmakers with whom he exhibits regularly. On a visit to Salisbury Cathedral in 2000, Frans' saw Gabriel Loire’s “Prisoners of Conscience” window which impressed him so much that he has been making stained glass ever since. He regularly executes stained glass commissions, mostly domestic, and exhibits stained glass, etchings, linocuts and paintings in galleries across Britain.
We have a lovely collection of Frans' stained glass work in our shop in Cheltenham. We are open Monday to Saturday at 18 Rotunda Terrace, Montpellier Street, Cheltenham.

This immersive retreat welcomes both beginners and those with some previous experience, offering time and space to play with pattern, colour and form through a series of small-scale mosaic compositions.
Working with reclaimed ceramic tableware, you’ll learn techniques for cutting, shaping and designing your own richly detailed pieces, guided by Cleo’s distinctive narrative approach.
This is a retreat about process as much as outcome — a balance of technique, experimentation and individual interpretation, set within the calm and creative surroundings of Court House Farm.
The price includes 5 nights’ accommodation, all meals and refreshments, expert tuition, inspiring talks, studio time, activities, and local visits. Only a few spaces left.
