We always say we mentor girls around the world to become powerful advocates and confident leaders. But what does that really mean? Hear our VP of Programs, Adrienne Warren, explain how girls build the social-emotional skills that make leadership and self-advocacy possible: learning to understand their strengths, values, and boundaries, express themselves and seek support, and make confident decisions when facing challenges. When girls develop these skills in safe, supportive spaces with a trusted mentor, they begin to recognize injustice, believe they deserve better, and take action in their communities 💪🌟

Girls around the world are often put last — last in access to education, last in healthcare, last in opportunities. And being last prevents girls from reaching their full potential. To that we say: Enough. We’re putting girls first. Today, tomorrow, and every month ✨ And YOU can put girls first, too. We’re excited to introduce #GirlsFirst, our monthly giving community! For just $17 a month, your gift connects a girl with the mentorship and support she needs to become the leader she was always meant to be ❤️ Join us in putting girls first today at the link 🔗 in our bio! #PutGirlsFirst #GirlsFirst

Did you know that menstrual products are still taxed in 18 U.S. states? Period poverty doesn’t only exist globally. It’s happening here, too. For millions of girls and families, the “period tax” creates an added financial barrier to accessing essential products. This #PeriodPovertyAwarenessWeek, read more about the hidden cost of menstrual products in the U.S. at the link in our bio or at globalgirlsglow.org/blog 🩸

This Mother’s Day, celebrate the mothers and mother figures in your life with our shareable cards — made to honor their love, strength, and belief that help girls grow into who they are meant to be 💌 🌷Send one to your mom, a mother figure, or someone who’s played that role in your life. 🌷Tag someone who deserves to be celebrated, and download the cards at globalgirlsglow.org/mothersday (link in our bio!) 🌟Take it one step further and honor the women who helped shape your voice by helping another girl find hers. 🌟For $17/month, you can provide a year of mentorship for a girl. 🌟You can dedicate a gift in your mother’s honor at globalgirlsglow.org/putgirlsfirst 💐

Mothers are often a girl’s first mentors. They play an important role in how girls learn to see themselves and navigate the world. In GLOW Club, we see girls continue building on that learning—more confidence in expressing themselves, clearer ways of sharing what they think and feel, and a stronger sense of what they’re capable of. And mothers notice. We hear from many who feel encouraged by what they see in their daughters. It often sparks hope for more opportunities for them and reflection on what they wish had been possible when they were younger. It’s a reminder that what girls gain through spaces like GLOW Club often reaches far beyond them. As we approach Mother’s Day, we’re celebrating mothers and the role they play in girls’ lives as they grow 💐🩷

This is your sign to join us in Zambia 😌✨ We just came back from Peru and are still thinking about how powerful it is to experience GLOW Clubs in person. In Huanchaco, we listened, learned, and connected directly with girls while immersing ourselves in their community. Next spring, we’re heading out again on our Insights Trip to Zambia! And if you’ve been wanting to travel with purpose, this could be your chance to come with us 🇿🇲 Spots are limited, so let us know if you're interested in joining us at globalgirlsglow.org/insightstrips/ and share this with a friend who you'd want to bring along 💛
