Inspired by Dark Fantasy and Sword and Sorcery of the 1980s and 1990s — Amaranthine explores both melancholy, intimacy, and the acceptance of our inevitable march towards the unknown.
Recoded with the Arturia Minifreak and Alesis SR16 — Amaranthine features a much Synth heavy sound — inspired by Retrowave and the Berlin School.

Antiquated and almost unplayable in 2026 — there’s still no doubting that Shadow Tower had the most banger of atmospheres.
Between this and Kings Field, you can see where the Soulsborne Formula in atmospheric storytelling stems from.

A lot of the songs on my next record “Lacuna” (as well as my first record “Obsidian”) are very difficult if not impossible to recreate live. Of both records they were recorded straight in to my DAW as single stereo tracks.
This is a combination of my Juno D6 (doing an ambiance track) my Wavestate (voice/strings) my Opsix (a held/arp’d pad) and suspended voicings on my Minifreak.
It’s granted a lot less melodic than the previous releases. However, there is something inherently magical in just “going for it.” Most likely a lot of my upcoming sets will be performed like this.

Some of the records I was listening to when composing my next release “LACUNA” — while I still firmly believe it falls into the Dungeon / Fantasy Synth Category. There’s no doubt a noise/Dark ambient and science fiction element to the sounds I used on the album.
When recording I threw out the idea of strong melodic presence, and the song structures I had been using in my previous releases in favor of something more emotional, and in the moment.
Really plays on my love for Neo-Noir as well as cerebral horror. The down-tempo, trip-hop inspired, dark ambient vibes really suited the dreamy surrealist vibe I was going for as a follow up to @the_skeleton_mage ’s first installment of our trilogy.
If you haven’t checked out “Liminal Lands I : The Empty Throne” yet I Definitely suggest you do so, it’s a fantastic record. Truly hoping I have more inspiration and opportunities to return to this style as I had a blast doing it.

The second in a series of PSX Era inspired music that’s being assembled by @the_skeleton_mage , @theashencodex , and myself — Lacuna is my take on the era, a love letter to one of my favorite Composers Akira Yamaoka (Silent Hill) as well Koji Kondo’s work on the dungeons of Ocarina of Time and Majora’s Mask.
The story revolves around “The Kenoma” or “Empty One” who has been sent to the lands of Lacuna to reassemble their lost soul. Conceived as a secular Dante’s Inferno inspired by Plato’s Tripartite (Hunger, Logic, Emotion)
Lacuna is comprised across 23 tracks that combine into a 60 minute runtime recorded over the Weekend of 5/1 (with a few tracks pulled from the month previous). Each track was created of predominantly single takes with different combinations of my Minifreak, Wavestate, Opsix, and Juno D6. It is a natural evolution to my first album Obsidian and serves as yet another departure from the album (Amaranthine) previously.
All of that to say; if you like Dungeon Synth-Lite motifs, Silent Hill, Zelda Duneons, noise, industrial and David Lynch at his most surreal. You’ll be right at home with Lacuna.
