Well, if Liverpool can't retain a title - someone has to. Delighted, proud and (as the photos show...) ever so slightly smug at winning @_bsme B2B Editor of the Year award for the second year running at #bsmeawards2025
Many thanks to the judges, to my incredible team at @computerweekly and to all our readers.
Arne, if you need any advice on retaining titles, you know where I am...

How often can you get views like this in London (and weirdly spooky selfies)? Huge thanks to the team at @_bsme for the brilliant summer party at London's highest event venue, Lucky Cat on the 61st floor of 22 Bishopsgate building
I really enjoyed the opportunity to speak at #sxswlondon recently, about how not to be the next Post Office scandal. Here's the video of my talk, should anyone be interested...

Twenty-five years ago, the internet revolution began to transform the media world. With AI, the changes will be foundational – but does that present a threat or an opportunity?
Last week, the BSME brought together an expert panel at the Bankside Hotel. Bryan Glick, editor-in-chief of Computer Weekly, chaired a panel featuring insights from Jatin Aythora, director of Research & Development at the BBC; Robin Booth, managing director at EMAP Publishing Ltd; Harriet Meyer, financial journalist and AI trainer; Mary Fitzgerald, director of programs at Open Society Foundations; and Greg Williams, deputy global editorial director at WIRED.
The discussion revealed ways that journalists, editors and publishers can embrace AI as a tool for innovation, to reshape and reimagine their roles, as well as the evolving needs of audiences in this new era.
Huge thanks to Bryan for hosting such an insightful discussion, our brilliant panellists for their contributions, @banksidehotel for kindly hosting, and everyone who attended!

I never tire of writing this, and I apologise to anyone who tires of reading it - but Computer Weekly won another award last night. Our 8th of the year - unbelievable.
Computer Weekly won Campaign of the Year at the British Journalism Awards - the biggest annual awards night for national media and broadcasters. In our category, we beat the Sunday Times, the Guardian, Evening Standard, the i Paper, the Independent, the Daily Express and the Daily Mirror. (That's nearly all the nationals, right?)
Across the night, four awards went to the BBC, four to the Times / Sunday Times, three to the Economist, two to the Guardian, two to Channel 4 News, two to The Sun - and right in the middle of all that, was little old Computer Weekly, the specialist magazine that (according to a Post Office exec) didn't know what it was talking about when we first exposed the Horizon scandal.
What a great way to round off a remarkable year for everyone at Computer Weekly - I doubt we will see another one quite like it.
And yet another huge thank you to my team - for me, the very best B2B editorial team in the UK.
See you in 2025!
The Editors’ Editor of the Year award went to Bryan Glick, editor-in-chief at Computer Weekly. The award was presented to Bryan by Jo Hamilton, a former subpostmaster who was a victim of the Post Office scandal when she was wrongly accused and convicted of false accounting.
“I’m here because I would like to pay tribute and say a huge thank-you on behalf of all the sub postmasters, to someone who has headed up a brilliant team that has been key to exposing the shocking Post Office Scandal,” said Jo.
“From their first story in 2009 to where we are today, 500 articles later, Computer Weekly has doggedly reported this dreadful story. And then it was lifted off the page by the ITV drama in January .
“Now the whole world knows what your magazine has been reporting for decades!!
“So can I ask Bryan Glick to come and receive this award and thank him for his great editorial work, for giving us credibility and helping us speak truth to power.”
Congratulations, Bryan!

Wow - what can I say? (I'll think of something...)
Huge thank you to @_bsme and all my editorial peers among the membership who voted me as Editor's Editor of the Year, and the judges who chose me as B2B Editor of the Year. Hugely honoured, humbled and also wanting to jump up and down and yell about it. Astonished that my name will join the who's who list of previous winners - almost certainly the only time you'll see my name alongside Boris Johnson on a trophy! And a very special thank you to Jo Hamilton for sneaking into the ceremony to present the award - this is for all the Post Office scandal victims, and for all my incredible team at @computerweekly . Thank you
