I had heard from multiple reliable sources that our album was on display in the shiny new @tru_thoughts office in Brighton, so I wanted to check it out for myself. #factchecked✔️

It’s exactly one week until we release our debut album ‘Yaygara’ on @tru_thoughts . On Saturday 23rd we’ll be doing an instore DJ session at @capsulerecordsuk so we wanted to share some of the records that will be in the record bag on that day. This track is called Zenith by the extremely excellent @sababafive on @batovrecords from 2025. Killer Middle Eastern groove-based delights. Got some DJ dates coming up to promote the launch of our debut album ‘Yaygara’ starting with an album launch/instore set at the very excellent @capsulerecordsuk on Western Road in Brighton (down the Palmeira Square end). Sosyete ‘25’s ‘Yan’ is the most sensual and immersive track from their forthcoming debut album ‘Yaygara’ @we_are_sosyete25 unites songwriter and vocalist Merve Erdem @safinazfinaz (Kit Sebastian/Brainfeeder), guitarist and producer @glennfallows (Globeflower Masters/Mr Bongo) and producer and composer Paul Elliott @paul_elliott_double_t (Call Sender/Asha Puthli/Bacao Rhythm & Steel Band/Project Gemini/Shawn Lee). Together, the trio draw a vivid, borderless soundworld shaped by Mediterranean disco-pop, outernational funk and the emotional directness of Turkish poetry. Meaning “burn” in Turkish, ‘Yan’ is the most intimate and fervent chapter of ‘Yaygara’. The song explores love as transformation, devotion, longing and surrender, expressed both physically and emotionally. Its central refrain, “Yan, yan, yan”, repeats like a mantra, turning desire into something ecstatic and consuming. Vocally, Merve channels the atmospheric pull of ’90s Turkish dark pop, shaping a melody that is at once melancholic and smouldering.
