Hours reminder! The drive-thru pantry at Gleaners Food Bank of Indiana is open many times a week to serve you.
Neighbors living in our 21-county service area may visit the pantry once a week. A vehicle may pick up for as many as three total households.
While our on-site pantry is drive-thru, we do accommodate neighbors coming on foot or by bike if necessary.
Gleaners Food Bank of Indiana released our 2025 Impact Report, highlighting that last year continued the troubling pattern of rising hunger in our state and a rollback of resources for neighbors facing hunger.
As the largest food bank in Indiana, we have a responsibility to meet that need.

A dollar to Gleaners goes further than you think.
It powers bulk food rescue from major food distributors, gets freezers to our partners and keeps them running and helps move millions of pounds of fresh food to families across 21 counties in Indiana.
In other words, a single dollar helps sustain a network of nourishment for people facing hunger. Be part of it at our link in bio.
We’ve been forthright about the fact that we are living in a time of great need.
Today though, through the generosity of @anthembcbs and @elevancehealth , we are reminded this can also be a time of great hope.
We are very humbled to accept their donation of $1.8 million over three years. By directly supporting our efforts to acquire nutritious food on a massive scale, and committing to long-term support, Anthem and Elevance are helping us provide the kind of certainty only a nutritious meal on a plate can provide.
We have an update from a neighbor known to us only as “One of Thousands.”
They’ve written to us before, and have written again to share how much has changed, and how much hasn’t.
For them, Gleaners is still a lifeline to essential food.
We can be that for you too. If you’re walking a similar road, please know that you are not alone, and we are here.
The letter reads:
To Whom it May Concern,
About this time last year I wrote you a short note to express my gratitude for all the help that you have provided me along with so many others. I was hoping to return to work part time but due to my back injury, surgeries and a torn meniscus I’ve had to face the reality that that can’t happen.
May I assure you again that I have never been in fear that I would do without groceries. You have supplied the key ingredients to almost every meal that I enjoy. When I receive excess I cut, bag and freeze it. I always have something in the freezer that I can throw together because of You.
I also am able to share with neighbors who are less fortunate than me.
I want you to know that I am always treated respectfully and greeted cheerfully by everyone who I have come in contact with in your organization.
As I write this I actually have tears in my eyes. I don’t think that it’s even possible to convey what your assistance means to all of us and to me in particular. You have been a life line on my darker days and a blessing on the rest.
If any of you ever doubt how important what you do is please let me reiterate: we need you, we appreciate all of you.
Thank you for making this world a much warmer place.
One of Thousands

When Norma Hernandez first walked through the doors of the Mary Rigg Neighborhood Center’s food pantry on Indy’s west side two years ago, she wasn’t there to give back.
Her family had just lost everything in a terrible house fire.
Left with nothing but the clothes on their backs, Hernandez and her family were encouraged to visit food pantries to survive.
The sympathy and care she received through @mary_rigg on Indy’s west side eventually changed her perspective on what hunger and food insecurity really looks like.
Now, many years after the fire, Hernandez continues to give back to others at the very same pantry where she once found support during a difficult time.
“I just wanted to give back. I mean, they helped me,” Hernandez said.
You can read her full story at our Food for Thought blog, available at our link in bio.
If you swing by Gleaners during today’s distribution, you may see that we’re getting a helping hand from IMPD! Officers are here generously giving us some time out of their busy schedules to volunteer, and are assisting with everything from parking to food hand out.
We're grateful to these officers for stepping in line right alongside our dedicated volunteers to keep fellow Hoosiers fed and nourished!

As part of our ongoing @america250 celebration, Coca-Cola Consolidated was proud to help distribute 35,000 meals alongside @gleanersfbindy through their Drive-Thru program earlier this week in Indianapolis, marking meaningful progress toward our 2026 goal of serving 250,000 meals.
In honor of the Final Four’s Jim Morris Day of Service, our Teammates joined community partners including @hotboxpizza and @indianapolismotorspeedway to support families across Indiana with food and Coca-Cola products to enjoy at home.
Together, we’re strengthening communities and making an impact where it matters most.
No rest for our hardworking volunteers!
Thank you to everyone who helped give back at our drive-thru shop experience today, a new set up that helps provide our equally hardworking neighbors even more food choice and options when they come to Gleaners! đźš™
