beauty and baker @matriarchbreadco wears a customized oversized trench in almond. we adjusted the pattern to fit her petite frame while still keeping ample room for her beloved cozy sweaters. we spontaneously chose to do a rounded collar (similar to my hemp denim patterns) and I really love how it turned out! when it’s popped up it’s not only cute but really keeps out the wind.💨
last year I reached out to the brillant @leila_sews for help adjusting my patterns and I am so grateful I did. having her help was crucial in confirming that I have expanded my size range thoughtfully as everything I’ve learned about grading patterns has been mostly through trial and error. @leila_sews is an assistant professor of fashion design and social justice @parsonsschoolofdesign and has a pattern company @munaandbroad . she is pictured here wearing the size 4X rain trench in lightweight black waxed cotton with welted pockets.
