The @okbirthequity (OKBEI) recently hosted its 4th annual Doula Summit, bringing together doulas from across the state for a day of connection, learning and collaboration in support of equitable birth outcomes for all Oklahomans.
OKBEI welcomed partners including @imanisvillage , @ruralokbirthwellness , and nursing students from @langstonuniversity to foster meaningful dialogue on community engagement and care.
Attendees also received support to obtain or renew their doula certifications, helping sustain and strengthen this critical workforce.

Since 1990, @theparentchildcenteroftulsa has worked to prevent child abuse and neglect through education, treatment and advocacy, protecting children by supporting parents and caregivers through their child's earliest, most formative years.
In collaboration with the Birth Through Eight Strategy for Tulsa and other community partners, the organization provides free, evidence-based child abuse prevention programming and support in infant mental health and early parenting.

Gathering Place’s Chapman Foundations Adventure Playground has been voted USA Today’s Best Public Playground for 2026. This milestone marks the fourth win for Gathering Place in eight years, following its recognition as Best New Attraction in 2019 and Best City Park in 2021 and 2024.

Avanzando Juntos empowers small businesses and entrepreneurs by providing startup capital, mentorship and resources to build stable businesses. Listening to the needs of local developers and contractors, the organization launched Construyendo Tulsa in 2022—a direct response to community-identified challenges within the housing construction ecosystem. With 36 participants in 2025, Construyendo Tulsa provided training, mentorship and resources surrounding permits and business development to local professionals working in carpentry, welding, home remodeling and more.

InvestNorth, the City of Tulsa and Faith Based Housing Initiative are hosting a presentation and Q&A for local congregations on Thursday, April 16. The 2027-2029 @tulsaartistfellowship applications are officially live. Artists and arts workers with at least five years of experience are welcome to apply for this three-year, place-based fellowship in Tulsa. Ten artists will be selected to receive a comprehensive support package that includes a $150,000 stipend, housing support, studio space and access to shared facilities. Rooted in Tulsa, the Fellowship supports artists creating ambitious, community-engaged works shaped by place, context and collective imagination.
