We said a sad farewell to one of our most familiar faces at Gipping last week. Bob Paulley, Tradesman and General Operative, hung up his white hat and hi-viz after his final day with the company before leaving to enjoy a well-deserved retirement. Bob is a very familiar face, a much-loved and well-respected member of the Gipping team. He joined the company in 2011, and was usually found behind the wheel of one of our delivery trucks or operating a telehandler. Good luck, Bob, for a long and happy retirement! 👷

🐶🐾WARNING! Cuteness overload alert!!! 🐶🐾 We take health & safety very seriously at Gipping, so even Pepper, the Pawtastic Pooch, has her very own hi viz coat! As the latest recruit to our team at The Treehouse East Anglia's Children's Hospices (EACH), Pepper has been very busy in her new role as Site SuPAWvisor, assisting her dad, Project Manager, Chris Crabtree. It's easy to see why Pepper has her own growing fan club among the Treehouse staff 😍

Combine Cerulean blue skies, a seriously good photographer and a stunning project, and the results are in... 🩵 Paul Nixon's incredible photography at the University of Cambridge Centre for Mathematical Sciences is a brilliant showcase of a project we recently handed over. A grass and sedum mat rooftop has now been established, surrounding the new curved rooflight which soars the length of the building. New paved areas provide seating at the centre of this visually outstanding complex. Congratulations to the site team on its perfect execution of a technically and logistically challenging contract 👏

📷 We love to finish the week on a high note, and what better way to finish Friday than with a great photo of one of our Contract Managers, Peter Flatt? 🏛️Peter was visiting our recently completed project, the Centre for Mathematical Sciences - University of Cambridge, with photographer Paul Nixon, to capture some professional portfolio shots. ☀️ It was a beautiful day for Paul to photograph this stunning building, where a new rooftop sedum mat has established well since installation. We are really looking forward to seeing the results of Paul's work. In the meantime, Pete is taking bookings for modelling work 😁🤩

👷‍♂️ PROGRESS UPDATE!! 👷‍♀️ A new veterinary practice is now underway at the Carlton Colville Local Centre in Lowestoft. The scheme brings together a modern steel‑framed structure with zinc roofing, aluminium curtain walling, high‑performance glazing, and a combination of brick and render façades. The project also includes full internal fit‑out, drainage, landscaping, service connections, and external works. Located beside a supermarket, medical centre and in a residential neighbourhood, our team is placing strong emphasis on managing public interface, coordinating deliveries, and minimising environmental impact throughout construction. 📸 Some great images from our Site Manager, Dale Gregory! #Construction #UKConstruction #ProjectUpdate #CommunityDevelopment #BuildingForTheFuture #ConstructionManagement #SustainableConstruction #Lowestoft #EastAngliaProjects #VeterinaryPractice

🌳T R E E H O U S E P R O J E C T U P D A T E🌳 🌞 Recent fine weather has allowed work at the Treehouse, part of East Anglia's Children's Hospices (EACH), to progress very nicely. 👷‍♂️ The initial dig-out for the basement area pile mat is almost complete; the installation of trench sheets to retain the ground under the existing foundations has been completed, and the import of crush and levelling has commenced to form a pile mat for CFA piling. 🏗️ The grey crush pile at the top of the site is recycled from the demolition of the old building and will be reused around the site. 🙌 It's hard to believe how quickly the new extension is taking shape on the ground, in just six weeks!

We're delighted to have recently secured an exciting project to deliver two new extensions and a full refurbishment of East Anglia's Children's Hospices – The Treehouse in Ipswich. Since work began, our team has been truly moved by the incredible care the staff provide to children, young people, and their families. Their dedication is remarkable, and the impact they make is life-changing, delivering vital support every day, which is why continued fundraising is so important. To show our support, we're holding a charity golf day, with all proceeds going to EACH. There will also be a charity auction to raise additional funds. With all 18 places reserved, we've already raised over one third of our £10,000 target. There'll be plenty more fundraising opportunities, including a raffle, hole sponsorship and other activities during the day. If you could sponsor a hole (Minimum value £100; amounts above £100 are discretionary), contribute to an auction or raffle prize, or leave a donation, please visit our JustGiving Page via the QR code or link below. EACH provides care and support to children, young people and families, ensuring the best possible quality of life. Its hospices are happy, homely places for children, as well as supportive and restful spaces for families. Care is also provided at home, hospital and the community. EACH supports both bereaved and non-bereaved families, with expert nursing care, short breaks, symptom management, family activities/events, physical therapies, wellbeing support, end of life care, bereavement support and practical home help. Over 700 people currently receive care and support, including around 180 at The Treehouse, officially opened by HRH The Princess of Wales in 2012. The hospice has children's and family accommodation, a sensory room, music studio, sensory garden and specialist play equipment. The expansion includes a larger hydrotherapy pool, a wellbeing/therapies suite, a bigger, separate care area, a dedicated space for teenagers, an additional bedroom, and larger catering facilities. EACH receives just 15% of its income from the government. Thank you❤️ JustGiving: https://shorturl.at/vpdMA

Our Project Manager, Steve James, is a surprise (if slightly reluctant) celebrity! Standing by as a major press visit took place yesterday at our recently completed project at Ipswich Museum, Steve suddenly found himself in front of an ITV camera and microphone 🎤🎥 He did very well...bravo, Steve! (Watch out for the paparazzi!) 🤩 🌟 The Museum is looking fantastic after its redevelopment and is ready to welcome back its former inhabitants to re-join the Woolly Mammoth, massive giraffe and other creatures who have overseen the extensive internal renovation work. 🦒🦁🐳🐆 Sadly, we can't let Steve become a full-time celebrity as his professional experience and skills are needed on another site... 😂

It was a beautiful, sunny day for a visit to The Treehouse, East Anglia's Children's Hospices (EACH), to discuss a big fundraising event and see the progress on site. Since the breaking ground event two weeks ago, demolition and site clearance have begun, paving the way for the new extension, which will greatly enhance the facilities available. The images show the foundations of the former section, the former doorway from the main block and the area of the new extension. It was lovely to meet more of the EACH staff, who have made our site team so welcome. They all, without exception, do an absolutely amazing job and bring a special kind of joy to a place which offers such incredible care and respite to families ❤️
