So excited for this magical little world to open soon I’ve been secretly painting away inside @laurel__coffee creating an enchanted forest with all sorts of symbols and full on all the forest energy that I love so much. The mural was inspired by the incredible monarch migration from Mexico to Canada and back one of nature’s most beautiful journeys. Honestly, this project has been SO much fun to make. Can’t wait to finally reveal the full space and share this cozy magical corner of #montreal with you all .

Today is my second Mother’s Day, and this year feels different. A year of deep love, real exhaustion, growth, and transformation. Becoming a mother has changed the way I see life, time, love, and even myself. Motherhood opened my eyes to the quiet strength women carry every single day. The resilience, patience, and ability to keep showing up even when completely exhausted. I admire mothers more than ever now, especially my own mom. There are sacrifices you can only truly understand once you live them yourself. Motherhood transforms you. It asks you to let go of parts of who you were to become someone stronger, softer, and more aware of what truly matters. And I’m learning to ignore the shallow idea that a tired mother is somehow “less.” Today, I see mothers as silent heroines. I also see more clearly how little our systems truly support motherhood. Women are expected to heal, nurture, work, create, care for everyone, and continue producing as if raising a human life is not already one of the most important responsibilities there is. That’s why I believe so deeply in community. Raising children was never meant to happen alone. We need more empathy, more support, and partners who truly understand the depth of shared responsibility. And still, in the middle of the exhaustion, there is so much beauty. Tiny hands touching my face. Loving eyes staring at me every morning. A laugh that lights up my entire day. Watching a little human discover the world for the first time. I feel deeply grateful to continue being both an artist and a mother, and to have a community that holds me, supports me, and reminds me that I do not have to carry everything alone. This experience has transformed me profoundly. Today I celebrate all mothers who continue forward even while tired. The ones learning while loving. The ones carrying homes, dreams, and generations, often quietly. And I hope we can build a world where motherhood does not mean sacrificing yourself until you disappear, but instead feeling valued, supported, and sustained by community.

✨ Today we celebrate the inauguration of a work that brings cultures together. At the iconic Gardens by the Bay, a sculpture specially created to honor the historic artistic relationship that has, for centuries, connected Asia and Mexico through Talavera is unveiled. The Embassy of Mexico in Singapore, on behalf of Somos Axolotl, presents this axolotl head sculpture in one of the world’s most iconic cultural and natural spaces—where art becomes a bridge for dialogue, conservation, and shared culture. The piece was painted by artists @scum.sol and @giomantis during Breakpoint Singapore 2024, and was made possible thanks to the valuable support of the Solana Foundation. A living symbol of connection, exchange, and collaboration between territories for the protection of the axolotl. 🌏✨ 📍 Gardens by the Bay, Singapore 📅 December 17 #SomosAxolotl #Axolotl #GardensByTheBay #Singapore #ArtSculpture #CulturalExchange #ArtMeetsNature

The Axolotl thriving on it's natural element after the storm. What was so surprising about this moment was that we gathered 2 days before on a welcome ritual around the Axolotl Frequency, were we sang to the Azteca Gods, and we asked Tlaloc (god of rain and earth fertility) for some balance. To our surprise he answered. An iconic moment captured by @jamenpercy.burn #burningmanart

The joy of creating art for a purpose is a feeling that cannot be compared. It brings me a great happiness to channel my creativity into projects that pursue environmental goals. @somos_axolotl and @santuarioajolote shines a light on the issues affecting the survival of the axolotl in Lake Xochimilco. And this art piece was created to bring attention to the importances of protecting the Axolotl not only as an incredible unique species with scientific value, but also an important cultural symbol and endemic species from my hometown. #axolotl #axolotlart #xochimilco #savexochimilco #mexicanart #artist

This mural was cooked up last fall with my talented partner-in-paint @mariaantonietacanfield and just to keep things interesting, I was also busy growing a tiny human at the same time (talk about multitasking!). Fast-forward to now: I’ve swapped paintbrushes for breastfeeding full time 🫠 (full time job!) and I’m back — this time with my mini sidekick — getting ready for a fun little exhibit at Café Laurel. Come for the art, stay for the baby giggles and caffeine! @laurelcafe.mtl
