Fun fact: while I was listening, an interview came on my TV where Noah mentioned collaborating with my all-time favorite artist, @boniver / Justin Vernon, which somehow made this album feel even more special than it already did.
I’ve always wanted to do listening parties and live reactions to music, but I’ve always been too shy or nervous to be in front of the camera and talk. But tonight, after a long and stressful day at work, I decided to just go straight home, put the album on, turn on the AC, light my lamps and scented candles, and fully sit with the music. Here’s me converting you all to indie folk/folk pop music.

It’s been 16 years since I last held you, and not a day passes that I don’t miss you and Dad. Losing both of you changed me forever. On those days, something in me broke too. Grief is such a strange thing. It never really leaves, never moves in a straight line. It comes in waves, sometimes quietly, sometimes all at once and somehow, over the years, I just learned how to live alongside it.
But honestly, what a privilege it is to have loved so deeply that I can still feel that grief after all this time. In a strange way, it taught me how to keep loving even in the absence of you. Sometimes it hits me on random nights, and instead of running from it, I find myself thinking how beautiful that kind of love must be to linger this long. I thought grief is measured by what I had lost but it’s actually a measure of deeply I loved. 🥺
I keep going because I want to honor your lives. I want you both to live through the way I show up every single day, through the way I live my life and keep trying despite everything. Life has been hard, but I hope I’m making you both proud somehow. God has been so good and gracious to me. Thanks to all the prayers you planted since I was a baby.
I just wish you were here to see the life I’m building and experience the fruits of everything you sacrificed for. We’re all doing so well here though!
