you stop loving to receive

Part 1
God gave me a serious heart check while I was reading about King Saul and King David. The way David handled offense… even when Saul was literally trying to kill him… wrecked me. He still honored and served Saul. That kind of heart posture? Whew. 😮💨
It reminded me of a time I left a ministry because I was offended. I thought I was right… but now I realize I didn’t leave with honor. My season could have definitely been done there but still I didn’t have the heart of God when leaving.

We complain about not hearing the voice of God.
We complain that He never answers our prayers.
We say we want a devoted relationship with Him, yet we don’t take the time to actually spend time with Him, to talk to Him and to listen when He has so much He wants to say to us.
Our words say, “Yeah, I love Jesus,” but our actions tell a different story.
This used to be me too… until I stopped coming to God for what He could give me, and started coming to Him simply to be with Him, to love Him, for who He is.
