Just coming up for air having returned from a bonsai run, 6 day "Queen IKEA strikes again" installation on the Big Island, Hawaii.
For those of you that don't know, I don't just ride motorcycles and coach, I'm an interior designer by trade! Gina De Pasquale Design. I had to build and install a kitchen, laundry room, bathroom cabinets and 2 bedroom closets in a totally off-grid home. All happening during a crazy, once in 6 year rainstorm with flooding and downed trees. 95% HUMIDITY!!! 🥵
I was able to walk to the edge of the cliff for a view the hour after I arrived, yes with a broken foot. I have been on a rolling scooter the last 2 months. After that, it was pouring raining never left the house for 6 days building and installing thanks to the help of local neighbors Michael, Alessio and Justin. It was stressful but I left with just a couple of pieces to add in the end and the boys can handle it. Aloha until next time!

Yesterday I made a road trip out to the desert, honored to be at the celebration of life for the Striking Viking as we know him in BMW motorcycle world, Glen Heggstad. I met Glen when I was a motorcycle carney working IMS shows and had just opened Long Beach BMW. He had his BMW Dakar bike he rode around the world and was raffling off. This was the second bike of Glen's Adventure as he had been kidnapped, held and tortured by terrorist guerrillas in Columbia, then he decided to continue his trip.
Glen was one of the most unique people you'll ever hear about, let alone know in person. From a homeless kid, to a Hells Angel Enforcer, to a black belt in numerous martial arts that changed his life. Through martial arts he inspired and changed the life of so many people. This man was a philanthropist, a friend to many, a father, a protector and so much more. I hadn't seen him in years but have been following his life and his cancer journey. He was always positive and had more lessons in life than anyone I have ever known. Do yourself a favor and go to strikingviking.net, his IG locoviking or read the two books that he wrote and you will be fascinated and enamored by this man. The National Geographic show on him will move you. I particularly liked reading the hyperlink on his website "Glen attacked by many wielding knife". One of his last gifts was to build a massive dojo for his beloved martial arts so that his legacy would last for hundreds of years. His friend Sharon and so many others stood up there and told stories of the many gifts of life, love and money that Glen gave to them over the years. I was excited to see a friend brought one of his bikes he's traveled around the world with. So many tears for the loss of a legend, a Superman, a Viking warrior. Merry Christmas to me! Despite what you may think I am still one cat short of crazy cat lady. Just acquired these two love bugs from the recent Ex who's rehoming all his kids. Say hello to Boots the tabby and Figbash the flame point Himalayan! They are super friendly and outgoing and they already know my dogs and me so they've settled in quickly this past week. Only problem is I am playing chronic door closing Tetris in my house with these guys being 2 indoor cats, my one outdoor cat and the other 2 are indoor/outdoor... and 2 cattle dogs 😱😜. Happiness is...a quick visit with 2 of my favorite people on this earth! GS Jane and Ken Engleman! They are both such lovely, giving, caring and long time committed friends. So happy we got to connect! Jane showed up with homemade sour dough, jam and gifts ❤️. Ken had some karmic payback from me 😉 Recently he pulled over on the freeway to help a stranded new motorcyclist who ran out of gas. Yesterday he showed up to meet for lunch and his battery died at the gas station. Thanks to the new dealership in Fairfield Connecticut called Motoplex, We were able to borrow some tools and a jumper and get him running again. Looks like his Be Kind campaign works!!! NYC Museum Day 2 with partner in crime for the day Charlie. Back at Radio City where they held my graduation from FIT design school. First time at 9/11... I don't consider myself a very psychic person but I felt an instant energy shift walking into ground zero and not because I was emotional. The great thing about Larchmont is you can hop on a train and be in New York City in half an hour!
