Absolutely made up to see them owning such huge stages and venues — literally decades of hard work and perseverance paying off.
It feels like there have been a lot of wins for the UK heavy music scene recently, and it’s amazing to see pals from years ago stepping up and shaping UK music’s culture and industry. From playing arenas, booking huge festivals to defining global trends in visual culture, there are punks and metalheads woven amongst it all!
Eternal thanks to the band and @edmasonphoto for letting me once again tag along for the night, it’s always a pleasure.
Congratulations to @architects on the release of their latest record, The Sky, the Earth & All Between, and a week of working themselves to the bone on promotion and playing release shows up and down the country. Last night was a fun one in London and they were kind enough to let me tag along. The guys and their team are the best at it.

August Burns Red, Leveler 10 Year Anniversary Tour, USA
Picture the scene: it’s early October, I’m heading home from a shoot on an otherwise uneventful Monday, and get a text from @jbburnsred — @augustburnsred have had to postpone a bunch of shows due to covid, and their regular guy is unavailable to shoot. Could I possibly fly over to help out for a few weeks?
You can probably work out what I said.
Thank you so much to the guys in ABR for having me out on this short run — celebrating 10 years of their Leveler album, and marking, nearly to the day, 10 years since I first worked with them. The tour was not without its complications (how about having to get a fill-in vocalist with about 12 hours notice?) but I can safely say it was some of the most fun I’ve had in years.
Summarising the two weeks in one post is a fools’ errand, but here are some of my highlights.
