“Sisterhood”
is a womenswear collection that examines emotional, cultural, and symbolic bonds between women, through the lens of loss and enduring connection. Rooted in the memory of my late younger sister
@ziv_levran , the project explores mourning rituals, feminine intimacy,
and the fragile tension between presence and absence.
Influenced by Victorian mourning
practices, mythological women, and the pioneers of modern dance, whose movement became
a language of grief, resistance, and release.
The collection merges masculine tailoring with
draped, fluid silhouettes drawn from dancewear. Natural textiles like silk, wool, and leather are contrasted with breakable ones—ceramics, plaster, and cold porcelain—evoking the quiet
beauty found in mended fractures, as in the Japanese art of Kintsugi, where broken pieces are made whole again without hiding their scars. Each piece holds a presence—echoing what was lost and what remains between women: care, memory, and the strength of shared experience.
