‘Matrimony’ is a song by Gilbert O’Sullivan, first released in 1971 as part of the album ‘Himself’. The satirical lyrics follow a groom-to-be as he discusses his upcoming wedding day with his partner. ‘Matrimony’ was later released as a single in Europe in May 1972, reaching #1 in Norway, #2 in The Netherlands and more (though interestingly, it was never released as a UK single).
