5 weeks ago was the unreleased live show of my debut album, “Songs I Wrote Sung By People I Love”.
My initial vision was a simple garage band style show, people sitting on the floor, and hootin’ and hollerin’ with whoever showed up. Instead I was met with a room packed with overflowing hearts, echoing laughter, and hugs all around.
Thank you’s and flowers to:
The musicians that were behind me that night, as they pushed me to breathe life into this project and finally pull the trigger on 7 years of poetry. Forever blessed to have you all as friends and to know you in this lifetime. Jorry and Ross, for providing stage lighting, sound, and videography. The most wonderful and unexpected surprise, as I was only going to have one speaker and RGB lights rotating through a colour wheel LOL.
@patrickhenson_ , for surprise capturing the show on film, because if not for you, no pics and it didn’t happen.
@thewell.studios , for allowing me to use their beautiful venue. Protect Vancouver Arts and small venues fr. Everyone in the room that showed up that night deserves the biggest bouquet, as when love was given out, it was also received, held, then reciprocated.
There are delays to the album as I have chosen to spend more time with family. I’m happy to say it will be released on July 11, so that you can enjoy it with a Slurpee on 7/11 Day. See y’all in a bit when I slowly introduce the people I love who participated in this project.
The April showers have brought me May flowers, as I hope it will do the same for you. And if you don’t want May flowers, I wish you endless swag.
