“I Am Rachel Platten” is out in the world! This is one of the most inspiring, intense, beautiful projects I’ve ever been a part of, and I’m grateful to have worked on it with some of my favorite humans, especially you guys @rachelplatten @jasonevigan Rachel called me and Jason up a few years back and asked if we could come over. I didn’t really know what to expect to be honest, but upon arriving, she said she had been writing these songs and she wanted to play them for us. Some of them were voice memos on her phone, some were produced demos, and some she sat down at her piano to play. She made me cry. I had never heard this side of her - this part of her life that was filled with such unsureness, strength, pain, beauty, and just about any other emotion you could think of. They were raw. And we quickly came up with the decision to get some of our dream musicians in a room, record it live, and make a record. We ended up doing most of the tracking in Nashville, at the wonderful Layman Drug Company. Then, brought it back to LA to finish it up. It’s been a long time coming, but I am so freaking proud of you Rachel, and the whole squad that poured their heart into this album. Love you guys!!!!
