My deeply emotional TEDx is complete! 'Unlock Your Story to Unlock Your Future'. What a journey it has beenā¦.
For a few years people have suggested to deliver a TEDx and whilst thatās humbling, I wanted it to FEEL right. When my old university @tedxastonuniversity_ reached out, I thought letās do it! To be honest, I guess I hadnāt fully thought through the emotions of coming back on campus to deliverā¦.
Firstly I hope youāll enjoy the final TEDx and I wanted this to be about YOU and not ME, your journey, your story! That said, I came to my old university campus and was hit with so many emotions.
As I showed the team around campus, I couldnāt help but relive the footsteps from 2010 when my mum and dad moved me to university. Happiness then a feeling of sadness. Then reliving the buzz from freshers week here where I met my other half, coupled with the feeling that I left here in 2014, just before my life would change forever.
The area is a place of many lovely childhood memories but itās also a place where I know those behind my dadās murder are still living and walking free, for now.
As a good friend of mine Hussain Manawer says - Life can be sad and beautiful. I've learnt to embrace all emotions. And just before I went on stage, a wise message from Dr Kamel Hothi OBE said it all āFocus on how far youāve come - they canāt impact your strengthā x
I can't wait to share this with you soon - I hope you'll take something away from my TEDx for you ā¤ļø

11 years ago today my dad was murdered - a date that continues to be burned into my mind.
For anyone who has gone through a moment that shapes you, sometimes it feels like a lifetime, other days it feels like only yesterday.
I remember the last time I saw my dad. I was mid studying for my ACA accounting exams as I was working at PwC. It was late April, I had popped home to study in the Midlands. My dad dropped me at the train station but in his usual fashion he used to get on the train to get me seated and risk it before the doors closed to jump off.
I remember exactly the suit I was wearing and him saying how proud he was along with a huge hug. Life was so great that day, I just never knew that 2 weeks later, my happy smiley dad would take a flight and be gone forever.
11 years on and the road to justice continues and so it must. There are days when I miss him so very much and I think, why? Why did those killers have to end his life - a man who was so full of just that, life.
The details behind my fatherās murder case are complex and have tested me in so many ways. But, I will never be beaten.
Itās made me emotionally and physically stronger and whilst it forced me to grow up very quick - I carry my dad in all that I do and will continue to do so.
The journey for justice continues. This is not over. And today is not a date I like to remember but this case is not closed and so until it is, we must continue to talk about it.
Over those 11 years, I have met some remarkable people on here. Some have changed my life and some have helped guide me. In the absence of my father, there are male role-models who are there for me too. Special thank you to Clive Driscoll and Mike Smith who have been at the end of the phone whenever advice is needed.
And I say this - if you are wronged, if someone commits a crime that is not right. Then we must not remain silent. We have a gift in our voice, use it, stand up proud and you will not only fight for yourself but pave the way for others to walk in your footsteps.
Never ever give up.

The trip of a lifetime to the World War I and II battlegrounds with my mum. š«š·š¬š§
Itās been something we have wanted to do together for years and we finally did it. Starting in Normandy where 156,000 men landed on the beaches on D-Day with high casualties. Those men giving their lives up for us. Literally many age 18-24 who never got to live a life.
After that we drove 3-4 hours north to the Battle of the Somme tracking down the last steps of my mumās Great Uncle JJ Jackson who was killed in action 26 March 1918.
We went through the trenches, saw the destruction that war can do.
The battle of the Somme saw over 1 million lose their lives within 5 months. One of the biggest in British history, 420,000 of those were British.
Iāve always had such respect for the military and those of the past but now itās taken a whole new meaning.
If youāre thinking about a trip like this, I cannot recommend it enough. So many of the museums and places are also free making this a relatively inexpensive trip yet so much to learn and to change your views on life.
Iāll never forget this week and Iāll never forget those from all around the world who fought for us. Every single day is a blessing and even on a hard day I shall remember when my hard vs their hard looked like - that thought alone is enough to move on and never ever give up.

Weāre live with the incredible @marisapeertherapy the world's top therapist in Rapid Transformation Therapy!
Marisa and I sat down in Dubai, covering key themes from her childhood and her time in LA, to understanding eating disorders, and the launch of her unique approach to therapy.
From hypnotherapy and craving attention as children, to understanding that we are enough, this episode will really hit home for anyone.
We all have stories, no matter where we come from. We all have challenges, demons in our mind, but Marisa shows, with practical tips, that we can change and rewire our brains. I took so much away from this episode, and I hope you will too.
In this conversation, Marisa opens up about:
ā”ļø The root belief of āIām not enoughā and how it shapes our confidence and life choices
ā”ļø How childhood experiences and past patterns continue to drive our present
ā”ļø Why logic doesnāt work when it comes to change ā and why emotion leads
ā”ļø How to rewrite your inner dialogue and build beliefs that support you
ā”ļø Practical tools and techniques from Rapid Transformational Therapy to create lasting change

Iām so excited for this episode to launch. Welcoming a special guest @marisapeertherapy ā one of the worldās leading therapists and founder of Rapid Transformational Therapy to The SuperPower Podcast!
Incredible to sit down with Marisa, whose work Iāve followed for years, to explore how we can truly change our mindset to change our lives. Filmed in Dubai, we unpacked her approach to rewiring the brain and why transformation doesnāt need to take years to happen.
We also went deeper on the beliefs that hold us back, and I even asked Marisa to help unpack one of my own challenges live on the show⦠youāll have to tune in for that one!
For now, I'm really looking forward to the launch of this episode releasing this Friday 10th April at 12pm UK time. Stay tuned!
