Dear friends,
Every year, when Black Friday arrives, we take a moment to reflect on what the value of our work truly means to us. And we realise that this kind of mechanism doesn’t reflect who we are.
This isn’t a criticism of those who take part. It’s simply not our way of working.
Our books aren’t created as fast products. They grow out of a cultural, artisanal and collaborative process. They require time, dialogue, trials, and a level of care that doesn’t fit into a logic of urgency or large-scale production.
Our work is genuinely local, Italian, rooted in Bologna. It is shaped through direct collaborations, thoughtful choices, and carefully considered print runs, where each project follows its own rhythm.
In a moment like this, we feel even more strongly the importance of staying true to this approach. Black Friday relies on fast, high-volume dynamics that don’t align with the pace of our work or with the meaning we try to give to our books.
Today more than ever, we believe there is room for a different model: more attentive, more respectful, and closer to the quality each project requires.
