“Natural” means something different to everyone! For my gorgeous bride, feeling like herself meant embracing the glam she loves—because she’s someone who does wear makeup day to day. Her version of “natural” wasn’t bare skin, but rather a softer full glam that still felt true to her. To achieve this, I used natural tones to balance out the look so it didn’t feel too harsh, while keeping all the elements she loves. A youthful pop of blush brought life back into the skin, bright under eyes gave that fresh radiance, and of course… the full flutter lashes tied it all together. Hey there! I’m Gia DeMauro, and I’m so excited you’re here! I’m a makeup artist based in Rochester, NY, but I travel all over—both nationally and internationally—for work. My makeup obsession started at 13, when I began practicing on friends and family. By 18, I got my NYS cosmetology license and jumped into the salon world. I always dreamed of working for MAC Cosmetics, and I got to live that dream by opening the first-ever MAC store in a salon! At 21, I moved to NYC, studied international trade and marketing at FIT, and worked for MAC and Anastasia all over the city. Then, when COVID hit, I moved back home, started assisting in the bridal world, and instantly fell in love with it. That’s when I decided to take the leap and launch my own business! Yes, this is a version of a smoky eye… but smoky doesn’t always have to mean heavy 🤍 There are so many ways to keep it soft and sultry, and for this look I focused on diffusing the lash line so it melts into the eye instead of sitting on top of it. When she opens her eyes, it still feels effortless—not overdone. I also love keeping the rest of the face a little softer so the eyes can really stand out without competing.
