✨MEET THE TEAM✨
Since Giovana Chaia was a kid, films have always took a big part in her life. She has always found fascinating how movies can access feelings and emotions and promote a new way to experience our own life. After graduating in Psychology, Giovana started going after courses that would develop her filmmaking skills. In Brazil, Giovana studied Direction of Photography and Camera Assistance, taking part in a few projects, until she found herself as an Assistant Director. She is now finishing her Masters in Filmmaking at the London Film Academy and has been improving her abilities with some short films.
Combining the knowledge from her 5 years studying psychology and her skills working in film sets, Giovana brings to this project a unique way to work with the crew and the actors. “Taking part on Waste Away is something that I am really proud of because it encapsulates what I find it most amazing about filmmaking - our way to share our experiences in a way that can help other people. I am excited to help our directors, Victor and Louisa on telling this important story”.
