Heart-full-good-vibes-morning 🫶 on our family fun walk with beautiful parents and happy children from @ghyllroydschool . We even had Jess join us! Our four legged friend from the Dexter family 🐾 Lovely start to the day on top of t’moor! Fresh air, good cuppas and lots of lovely company and conversations. We saw tadpoles in the pond, ducks on the water, climbed rocks, ate haribo and had a jolly good time! Thank you everyone who took part, what a nice way to begin the weekend 😎☀️🥾 #ilkleymoor #cowandcalf #family #schoollife

PIPPAFEST 2025 What an honour to host such an incredible event on our grounds. A big thank you to the sponsors, stallholders, vendors, artists and organisers for a brilliant day. Congratulations to Pippa's mum, family and friends who created a beautiful tribute. The Ghyll Royd team kept the children entertained with the bouncy castle and enjoyed curry, coffee and tunes in the sunshine. The team are tallying up the proceeds which will all go towards @teenage_cancer to help patients receive the best care and support possible. @pippa_fest 💕

These observational drawing are anything but simples! In their Toys module, Forms 1 and 2 could choose from a range of objects to observe and draw. This group of talented young artists chose to focus on a meerkat teddy, focusing on the shading of his fur, the shape of his body and the details on his glasses and suit! We can't compare these pieces - they are all brilliant!

Have you seen these incredible self portraits?! Forms 5 and 6 studied the Tudors and created their own masterpieces, inspired by court painters like Hans Holbein the Younger. He would add symbolism and objects related to his royal subject to his work. We love how much the portraits look just like their artist, showing great attention to detail. Even without their incredible likeness, we could take a guess at whose piece was whose based on their chosen objects and images that surround them! Taylor Swift? Football? Horses? Cricket? Pizza!

The trees from our 2017 Centenary wood project are looking beautiful in the sunshine. Our former Form 6 class planted these saplings 8 years ago to commemorate 100 years since the end of the First World War. The project was supported by @woodlandtrust who donated a variety of trees native to the UK, including oak, rowan, blackthorn, grey willow and cherry. A fantastic project to be involved in and a way for the children to make their mark in history!
