The tournament will take place June 19, 2026- June 21, 2026.
Trophies will be awarded for:
“Biggest Catch”
“Smallest Catch”
“Most Unique Catch”
It is as easy as 1, 2, 3 to participate!
1. Go fishing anywhere with your father/father figure.
2. Using #GHPRDFishing2026, upload a picture of your catch next to something that verifies the date. FACEBOOK ONLY

This summer, West Virginia Camp invites explorers ages 8–12 to join us for a one-of-a-kind adventure right here in Almost Heaven! From July 27th–31st, campers will meet daily from 9 AM–12 PM at Ritter Park Shelter #2 for a week full of hands-on fun and learning.
We’ll dive into:
Nature & wildlife
Music & arts
West Virginia history & culture
…and so much more that makes our state special!
Campers will make new friends, learn new skills, and play hard all week long. To top it all off, we’ll wrap up camp with an exciting field trip to Heritage Farm, where participants will enjoy tours and take on the low ropes course.
Cost: $100 (includes camp t-shirt, daily snacks, and field trip admission)

Taking place on Saturday, May 2 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Westmoreland Park, this free, family-friendly event is the perfect way to get outside, get active, and connect with your community.
In partnership with the First Saturday Market at The West Edge Factory, GHPRD is extending the fun across the street. This is the perfect the chance to enjoy both creative indoor experiences and outdoor recreation as the weather warms up!
This event serves as a mini preview of our larger Kids to Parks Day celebration happening later in May offering a taste of what’s to come while giving families an opportunity to jump into the fun early.
We’ll be bringing out our Recreation Wagon, packed with all the goodies you love, including:
· Free-play yard games for all ages
· Group activities like tag, races, and the always-popular parachute
· Hands-on crafts and sidewalk chalk for those feeling creative and inspired
