“Scorpio’s tail is represented by a gun, symbolizing his intensity as well as his protective and focused nature for his home and family. The roads double up and meander, bridging the connection between reality and fantasy. In this scene, Pisces and Scorpio finally meet for the first time, as water begins to slowly fill the desert, a stark contrast from the warm and dry desert behind them. The light of the Moon, Mars, and Neptune awakens the kids and the Lunatics, who come out to stare. Pisces is ruled by Neptune, the planet of dreams, illusions, and spirituality, while Mars rules Scorpio, sparking action and desire. This allows Scorpio to utilize his unique ability to manifest the subconscious, and this gives Pisces the freedom to be the creative dreamer who understands situations beneath the surface with her physic-level intuition. Two fish in the far bottom right corner symbolize the end of the cycle, swimming in opposite directions below Pisces, looking on with an empathetic gaze. ✨✨✨

From The Overgrown Arcana, a mixed-media/illustrated tarot project that blends punk aesthetics with intimate, queer-centered symbolism. My approach to tarot explores how ancient archetypes can be reimagined through contemporary illustration while preserving their emotional and spiritual resonance.

Inspired by the the Three of Swords in the Minor Arcana, III of Brushes explores the emotional cost of devotion to one’s craft. An anthropomorphic heart, pierced by paintbrushes, becomes both subject and self—embodying the duality of creation as a source of both fulfillment and suffering.
Set within a surreal landscape of turbulent skies and fractured earth, the work reflects the artist’s journey through rejection, persistence, and the relentless pull to create. The brushes—tools of expression—transform into instruments of both healing and wounding, illustrating how deeply intertwined passion and pain can become.
This piece speaks to the resilience inherent in artistic practice: despite disappointment and hardship, the act of creation remains essential."
