@alyciabaumgardner “The Bomb” didn’t just win at MSG—she showed up in a love letter to Korea with @lilkimthequeenbee on her side! Her fight kit, designed by Korean-American brand @ghost.elements , paid homage to her Korean roots, Joseon Dynasty royalty, and her grandmother’s legacy. Every stitch was intentional, making history as the first-ever Asian-American woman to complete ten full three-minute rounds in the championship level. The Bomb is built different. 🥊

During her historic win at MSG, @alyciabaumgardner wore a one-of-a kind uniform from @ghost.elements 🪡 The all-white look pays homage to Alycia’s Korean roots and her grandmother’s legacy. Designed by @jeanalina , the kit features Korean plum blossoms (매화), symbolizing strength and femininity, with gold framing inspired by Joseon Dynasty architecture. Her name is stamped on the waistband in the style of a traditional dojang seal—historically used as a personal mark of authenticity, a fitting tribute to her place in history. Her outer robe draws from the Jeokui, the Queen’s robe of the Joseon Dynasty, reimagined with a modern peplum waist.

@alyciabaumgardner has always been in my favorite boxers of all time. Not just top female fighters, but top fighters, period.
 When I first watched Alycia knock out Terri Harper, I was hooked. Then I found out we shared Korean heritage and that hit different. Representation isn’t just a phrase… it’s the feeling you get when someone who shares something with you is doing something extraordinary.
 A few weeks ago, Alycia reached out and asked me to design her fight uniform for her bout against Korean boxer Bo Mi Re Shin — a Korean bout, rooted in Korean heritage, made by a Korean American designer. An honor I couldn’t have imagined. April 17th, the two made history. Ten hard 3-minute rounds. Two women building a necessary milestone for the sport — enduring vulnerability, making adjustments, showing intelligence and range the whole way through. And Alycia did it all while making weight on her period. (Something only women will really understand…)
 Alycia did it honorably, beautifully, and as her full self. As a boxing & fashion nerd, this was a dream. And I got to bring it to life with talented people right here in my new home — Puna, Big Island, Hawaiʻi. 🤙🏽 This one’s for Alycia, for Bo Mi Re, for my Korean mother, sister and for all of us and every moment that reminds us why we keep showing up. 🇰🇷 Congrats and thank you to @alyciabaumgardner !!!!

The “MEASURE” ⬇️ read When you roll to your right after slipping or defending a punch, you’re not just escaping danger — you’re setting the stage for your next move. One of the most overlooked details in this sequence is the measure — extending your lead hand as you come out of the roll. Here’s what it does: 1️⃣ Creates Distance – That extended lead hand acts like a feeler, keeping your opponent at the right range so you’re not crowding into their counters. 2️⃣ Disrupts Their Vision – A hand in their line of sight can obscure their view, making it harder for them to time a clean shot. 3️⃣ Deflects Counters – If they fire back immediately after your roll, that extended arm can help parry or slightly redirect the incoming punch without fully committing to a block. 4️⃣ Loads Your Next Attack – While your lead hand is measuring, your rear side is naturally coiled from the roll, ready to fire a straight right or hook. Key Tips: • Don’t overreach — your shoulder should still protect your chin. • Keep your elbow slightly bent so you can react fast. • Transition smoothly from the roll into the measure — it should feel like one continuous flow.
