⁨ ⁨ ⁨ ⁨ ⁨ ⁨ ⁨ ⁨ ⁨ ⁨ ⁨ ⁨ ⁨ ⁨ في الدورة الثامنة من مهرجان الجونة السينمائي، قرر المهرجان انه يسلّط الضوء على قضية الأمن الغذائي، و تأثير الجوع على الإنسان. بالتعاون مع طيارة قررنا تقديم تجربة مختلفة، و فاجئنا بها الممثلين عند حضور التصوير، حيث طلب منهم المخرج محمد شاكر تقديم الإحساس بالجوع بلغة السينما. الجوع مش مشهد، ولا مجرد فكرة بنحكيها على الشاشة. هو واقع بيعيشه ملايين كل يوم. ⸻ In the 8th edition of ‪‪‪‪‪‪‪‪‪‪‪‪‪‪@gff ‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬, the festival chose to shed light on the issue of food security, and how hunger affects the human being. For eight editions, we’ve watched those limits stretch, seen a young festival outgrow every expectation, and sat in that theatre to celebrate it all. Dozens of films, workshops, panels, and initiatives, each part of a shared dream to tell stories from Egypt, the region, and beyond. Bringing Your Film to Egypt & the Arab World.” The session explored the evolving relationship between filmmakers and audiences across the region, discussing distribution, accessibility, audience engagement, and the growing opportunities for films within Egypt and the Arab world. A conversation that highlighted not only where cinema is today, but where it’s heading next ✨ تواصلت فعاليات اليوم الثالث في الجناح المصري بمهرجان كان السينمائي مع نقاشات ثرية وحوارات ملهمة من خلال جلسة “من يشاهد؟ كيف تصل بفيلمك إلى مصر والعالم العربي”. تناولت الجلسة العلاقة المتطوّرة بين صُنّاع الأفلام والجمهور في المنطقة، مع مناقشة التوزيع وإتاحة الأفلام وتفاعل الجمهور، إلى جانب الفرص المتزايدة لوصول الأعمال السينمائية إلى مصر والعالم العربي. حوار سلّط الضوء ليس فقط على واقع السينما اليوم، بل أيضًا على مستقبلها واتجاهاتها القادمة ✨

@cairoscene LIVE: At the Egyptian Pavilion, a roundtable on the restoration and exhibition of Egyptian film classics brought together leading voices from across the region to ask what it takes to return these works to the screen and bring them to new audiences. The conversation explored the ethics of restoration, the challenges of accessing and preserving archives, and the responsibility of protecting cinematic memory for future generations. Speakers reflected on the delicate balance between technology and human expertise, the politics of where Arab and African film heritage is held, and the importance of keeping classic cinema alive as part of a living cultural conversation. Egypt returns to the Marché du Film in Cannes from May 12th to 23rd, 2026, the Pavilion once again creates a dedicated space for Egyptian cinema on the international stage. Behind every panel, reception, and connection at the Pavilion is a team bringing it all together. This year’s design takes inspiration from Egypt’s architectural heritage—from the geometry of the pyramids to the columns of ancient temples and the play of light and shadow that has long shaped Egyptian spaces.These references are reinterpreted through angular forms, reflective surfaces, and layered shadows, bringing a distinctly Egyptian presence to the French Riviera.
