As a shop that’s known for off-road bikes, we don’t do a lot of pavement slayers, but this one was a super fun project! We’ve built bikes for Ross in the past, and he puts in so many miles that he just wears them out! His last @mootscycles that we built now has over 130,000 miles on it, so it was time for a fresh new build! This frame is the perfect blend of classic and modern, and exactly the perfect setup for an endurance road machine. Thanks for letting us be a part of your adventures Ross, we love following along!
This is a project that has been a long time coming. Our good buddy @flakzeshman requested something totally one-of-a-kind, and we think this beautiful @mermanbicycles delivered! This frame has been sand blasted to achieve a smooth finish, and then treated with a special formula to allow the frame to rust and patina over time, but without allowing the rust to penetrate the metal. Zak picked out these gorgeous wheels and headset from our friends at @industry_nine and we expect the frame finish to achieve a similar color tone over time. Titanium handlebars, a crank with a hole in it and our new local favorite trail tires from @continental_tire round out this stellar single speed trail ripper. This bike is Stillwater AF and we couldn’t be more stoked on how it turned out! We better see you at @singlespeedoklahoma next year Zak! ❤️

We’ve been on a Stormchaser frenzy the past few weeks, these custom builds are flying out the door! We’ve been working towards this dream build for our buddy “Tall Paul”. This is a 61cm frame, and even in this size this bike only weighs 21lbs! We’re beyond stoked on how perfect this frame is for our local riding, and it’s always fun to see all of the different versions of this bike we can build. Congratulations on your new ride Paul, thanks for letting us be a part of your dream bike!
This is Thomson, and this little guy will always hold a special place in my heart. We were his home-away-from-home, and we always loved when he would stay with us. When I would stay at Taylor’s house, he would always be waiting outside the guest room door in the morning waiting for me to get up and come play. Thomson was the friendliest little guy you could ever meet, and he was a part of our family. I’m on the other side of the country right now, crying a hotel room wishing I could have picked him up for a hug one last time. So sorry for your loss @tweichman , Thomson was the best and we will miss him ❤️

You know when you see one of those pink bikes that always make you wish you had one? That bike is the @crustbikes Bombora, and our friend @rabichka now has one of the coolest ones in the galaxy! Custom wheels from @velocityusa are the centerpiece of the build, but the @ultradynamico tires really tie the room together. Wireless electronic shifting from SRAM, with all of the range for big adventures, and a @brooksengland B17 saddle on a nice carbon seat post from @whiskypartsco make for a cushy ride round out this stellar build. Cheers to many many miles, and happy new bike day!
Our homie @baylor_mcpherson came to @singlespeedoklahoma last year and broke his bike immediately. He rode a loaner from @mermanbicycles and he couldn’t get it out of his head. So for THIS years edition of SSOK, he’ll be rolling on his very own Unholy Diver Singlespeed! Choice components from @canecreekusa , @wolf_tooth_comp and @industry_nine round out his dream machine. Also peep that @ride5dev stem matched with the dropper and pedals 🤌 We’ve got a couple more frames in stock, come in sometime and check out the raddest hardtail in the game!
A person’s first single speed is a momentous occasion. Our buddy @_itsjustzac_ has been dreaming of this build for a long time and we finally got to make those dreams come true! This slick new @crustbikes Derecho is a perfect bike for the discerning local here in Stillwater, featuring excellent tire clearance, rowdy geometry that’s ready for anything, and most importantly, SINGLESPEED CAPABLE! Zac is ready to take this thing for a million miles and we couldn’t be more pumped!
It’s hard to find the words to describe what Rusty Atkins meant to us. He was a dear friend who was an encouragement in tough times, an inspiration to get out and ride no matter what, and a bringer of peace and comfort to many. We can’t believe he’s gone and our entire community will miss him greatly. We love you @brownmanra ❤️.
We’ll all be riding to his funeral tomorrow afternoon, meet up at the shop at 1:30, rolling at 1:45. It’s a short ride to the service that starts at 2pm. We’ll also be hosting a “Celebration of Life” ride for Rusty in the next couple of weeks for those who are asking, date TBA
