This guy is really into doors! He blew us away with his incredible record collection and even allowed us to digitize and remaster his favorite tracks. And they are now available in Soundly.

That is what Kristin Bolstad does.
Kristin performs live sound effects for silent films using objects and instruments she has collected over the years. Every move depends on timing, control, and rehearsal.
She also recorded a vintage cartoon sound pack for us using the same collection.

One week ago, His Majesty King Harald V turned 89. At Fredriksten Fortress, the cannons fired in salute, as tradition holds. We were granted permission to record the shots for cannon sounds in the Soundly Pro library.

When our recording artists decided to capture shotgun sounds, we figured supervision might be a good idea. Enter Tevje Samodee from Norges Jeger- og Fiskerforbund, who generously welcomed us to a supervised session at Sørkedalen shooting range, just outside Oslo.
We showed up like a small audio army:
- 23 microphones.
- 15 stands.
- 21 XLR cables.
@radiuswindshields fighting the wind and frost. @sennheiser , Line Audio, @lewittaudio and @schoepsmikrofone mics ready for action. Sound Devices recorders keeping everything in line.
Miraculously, every piece of equipment survived the freezing -12 degrees Celsius. So did we. Thanks to @tevje.samodee and @jegerogfisk , we walked away with some seriously powerful new shotgun recordings + and all our fingers intact!
