In true Decimated Designs fashion, we went BIG for our East Coast Haunters’ Convention booth, utilizing every service we’re capable of providing here at Decimated Designs, and all areas of our production facility - from foam carving, custom video effects and sound design to set and robotic creature fabrication. If we can do it, it was on display in some fashion at our booth.

Our recreation of the Soggy Doggy animatronic for Spin Master Toys at the Chicago Toy & Game Fair was a meticulous engineering feat. Beginning with a precise 3D model of the original toy, we ventured into the challenges of color matching the foam to PMS specifications and addressing the unique requirements of realistic movement and water resistance. The animatronic had to authentically simulate the toy’s actions, enduring water exposure as the dog was sprayed by the shower and subsequently shook off, creating an engaging and immersive experience for children. Additionally, our attention to detail extended to recreating the entire bath setup, complete with the bathtub, soap dispenser, shower, and handles, ensuring a faithful representation of the beloved toy at the fair.

We believe it's attention to the small details that elevate Decimated Designs projects. Today, we'd like to take a look at some of those finer details from our East Coast Haunters Convention booth that may have gone unnoticed.
From customized VHS Covers and nostalgic toys being engulfed by the black "Ick" to artist-animated shadow creatures edited into the video window, our booth served as a complete story of childhood darkness - not just a cool backdrop for Precious, Trantor, and the Human Skin Chair.
Huge thanks to @OddFiends for creating this awesome "Sulky Sourpuss" (a mutation of everyone's favorite Monster Pet toy), @malibuexpressvideo for their help with sourcing VHS art, @mollyatombomb and @kaehaus for their incredible paint work on the walls and skin chair, and @hilaryhany for helping Precious to look her best!
