Introducing Alexandra Beteeva (b. 1999)
@getbeta , a British artist painting figures in spaces that feel familiar yet unreachable.
Alexandra paints memories of moments she never witnessed. Her approach combines traditional craft with a contemporary sensitivity to material, narrative and feeling. “I am drawn to the tactile and the handmade, to a slower, deliberate process that allows reflection. This connection to representational practice is central to my work and identity.”
Alexandra is a recipient of the Euan Stewart Memorial Prize for Printmaking, RSA New Contemporaries 2024 and Bloomberg New Contemporaries 2023 (
@new_contemporaries ). She graduated with a BA in Painting and Printmaking from the Glasgow School of Art in 2022. She has been selected for the Hospitalfield Graduate Residency Programme 2023–24 and the Royal Drawing School Printmaking Residency in 2024 and 2025.
