Helping my friends @get.canopy kick off Hair Loss Awareness Month, a month I didn’t even know existed if I’m being honest, but am sure glad it does.
Losing my hair is something I have spent years feeling insecure and ashamed of, and getting a hair system was one of the first things that actually helped me feel like me again. I know some people might look at that and think I’m covering something up, but for me it’s kind of been the opposite. Being able to actually look at myself and notice the good for once, instead of just picking apart the negatives, has completely changed my self-image and boosted my confidence in how I show up for others.
I have always tried my best to take care of my hair/skin and that’s where Canopy’s filtered showerhead comes in. It has helped to cut out chlorine and other potential irritants that can mess with my scalp, hair, and skin. Whether I’m trying to keep my system in good shape or supporting what’s still mine, it’s a easy switch that makes a real difference (plus the scalp massager feels amazing, I won’t lie). So far, I’ve noticed my skin feels less dry and my hair healthier (real or not).
Hair loss is complicated and insecurities are real. Confidence doesn’t have to mean having it all figured out, it can just mean doing what feels right for you.
