On this International Day of Families, we think of all those for whom the word “home” is still uncertain. Because no family should have to grow through fear, homelessness, or invisibility.
At The Gere Foundation, we continue supporting initiatives working toward a future where everyone has a place to belong.
Because looking away should never be an option.
A home is not a privilege.
It’s where everything begins.

We often think of homelessness as something distant.
Something that happens in other cities, in other countries, in other realities.
But it doesn’t. It is here.
✔️On our streets.
✔️On the bench we pass every morning.
✔️In the person we’ve learned, almost without noticing, not to see.
Behind every story, there is a life that cannot be reduced to numbers.
Someone who once had a home.
A job.
A routine.
A place to return to.
And one day, they didn’t.
Homelessness is not only the absence of a roof.
It is the loss of safety, of identity, of belonging.
This is not a distant reality.
It is a shared one.
And it begins to change the moment we choose to truly see it.
🇪🇸 A veces pensamos que el sinhogarismo es algo lejano.
Que sucede en otras ciudades, en otros países, en otras realidades.
Pero no. Ocurre aquí.
✔️En nuestra calle.
✔️En el banco por el que pasamos cada mañana.
✔️En esa persona a la que, sin darnos cuenta, hemos aprendido a no mirar.
Detrás de cada historia hay una vida que no encaja en las estadísticas.
