One of the greatest mothers I have ever known. No longer with us in body, inspiring us forever with love in spirit. Happy Mother’s Day to all the mothers out there. We would live in a much better world if it was governed by a mother’s love, nurturing, and wisdom- basically the antithesis of those that currently rule by domination and fear. #matriarchynow

Any idea what type of nest and eggs these are? Almost mowed the ground nest over. Luckily I do everything at a slow roll enjoying the view, not very industrious of me but I sure am enjoying the ride.

did scientist report five Bonobo females attack attacking another male Bonobo for harming a young Bonobo? +9 Yes, in a study published on October 6, 2025, researchers documented an unprecedented case of five female bonobos violently attacking an adult male to protect a young bonobo and its mother. This incident, which occurred in the Salonga National Park in the Democratic Republic of Congo, is considered the most violent attack ever recorded in the typically peaceful species and may have resulted in the male's death.Key Details of the Incident:The Attackers: Five females—named Polly, Tao, Ngola, Djulie, and Bella—ganged up on a 19-year-old male named Hugo.Cause of Aggression: Researchers suspect the attack was retaliation against Hugo for previously attempting to harm or grab one of the attackers' infants.Severity of Violence: The attack lasted around 25 to 30 minutes. The females bit off parts of the male's ear, chewed his toes, and caused severe injuries to his genitals, disfiguring him.Aftermath: Hugo was missing for over 150 days following the event, leading scientists to believe the attack was fatal.Context for the "Peaceful" Species:While bonobos are known for their relatively low levels of lethal aggression compared to chimpanzees, this event highlights that female bonobos form strong coalitions to maintain their matriarchal structure and deter male aggression.Matriarchy in Action: When female bonobos unite, they can collectively overpower larger males.Rare Behavior: This level of violence is rarely seen in wild bonobos,, but it demonstrated the lengths to which females will go to protect their young. Wolf Eels amongst bioluminescent plankton. My title for this piece is “The Lovers” after the Tarot archetype, come see it in person @thecopperwolf and find out why I call it “The Lovers” and see more great art and meet artists whose studios are on the tour. On this evening artists such as Amanda and myself who will have studios on the tour will leave their studios and gather at Copper Wolf Gallery. Thursday 4-7 Such a great variety of talented artists in one place. Remember collecting art not only beautifies your space, it supports the arts, and supporting the arts makes a more beautiful world for all.
