This project is more than just a documentary - it's about making a real difference in Ethiopia's skateboarding scene. Their story is truly inspiring and deserves to be told; the scene is growing, but there's still more work to be done. Big thanks to Skatedeluxe for their support.
El 29 de octubre de 2024 tuvo lugar uno de los mayores desastres naturales que han ocurrido en España. En cuestión de minutos, las aguas torrenciales provocadas por la DANA comenzaron a desbordar los cauces de los ríos, afectando a diferentes municipios de España, siendo Valencia la zona más afectada. Como consecuencia, miles de voluntarios de diferentes puntos de España acudieron a las zonas afectadas para prestar ayuda. Entre los muchos afectados estaba la historia de @_furyo_ , artista residente en Alfafar que perdió su estudio debido a las inundaciones y @dridali , artista residente en Valencia que vivió el suceso desde el otro lado del Turia. Varios meses después, en enero de 2025, Furyo y Dridali se juntaron para realizar un mural en honor a la gran labor que llevaron a cabo los voluntarios. “Las manos del pueblo” es un documental realizado por David Corrochano @dcorrochano que une arte y solidaridad. Una pieza cuyo objetivo es recordar y dar esperanza, recordándonos el valor de la ayuda mutua en momentos difíciles.

The skateboarding scene in Ethiopia is dope. More people are getting into skateboarding every year, but access to gear is limited. We traveled to Ethiopia to film a documentary, but we also wanted to take the opportunity to donate some equipment. It was quite a challenge since we were only three people carrying everything from Spain—12 decks, 20 pairs of shoes, 5 cameras, trucks, wheels… We’re happy that this will help them keep improving their skills.
