Do you ever feel like everything you’ve done in your life has led up to a specific moment in time? This is one of those moments for me. I am humbled and so grateful to be part of such a powerful project. I have spent a good portion of my career in the studio or on the road with some of the most amazing Black artists in modern music history. I was their vessel. It was my job as a producer/mixer/ engineer to help them tell their story. The mission was exactly the same here. This is not my story. I couldn’t begin to talk about the experiences of growing up as a black child in America. But I can give them the sound pallet to express their unique story. I can capture an sonic picture of this very important moment in time. This is my gift and I give it back today to the Detroit Youth Choir. Black Lives Matter. Amen.
