Today we focus on the second technique used by @geranknol in his current solo exhibition: textile collages.
His practice involves a meticulous deconstruction of found textiles. By sourcing fabrics with distinctive, pre-existing patterns, he initiates a dialogue between the material’s history and his own vision.
Through a process of surgical cutting and thoughtful reconfiguration, Geran utilises the inherent logic of these motifs to create something entirely new. The figures don’t just sit on the fabric—they emerge from the juxtaposition, appearing within the tension between the original print and the new collage.
