Comedy festival is all done and dusted for the year. Chomsky and Foucault was the first time making and performing a comedy show with @okdemig as @grinanddandy and honestly it was a damn good time. There’s nothing quite like taking a big swing and it hitting.
Onto the next project, most likely with less puppets!

It’s a show about a debate from 1971 between two intellectuals, Noam Chomsky and Michel Foucault. It was meant to be the WWE of philosophical debate but it ended up being a lot less exciting than people expected. That doesn’t mean you can’t make a fun show about it, just means you better be good. Like, sketch comedy duo Grin and Dandy levels of good. 😉
They were asked “is there such a thing as ‘innate’ human nature independent of our experiences and external influences?” and that’s a topic big and juicy enough for anyone to take some bites out of. On top of this you have the philosophies of each to expand on; the different uses of power from the state downwards, the way society shapes what we think, how the media manipulates us, illegal government programs throughout the decades, and oh so much more. You know, quality comedy stuff.
If you already know these topics you’ll definitely have a blast, if you’ve never thought about these topics but have read this far, you’ll definitely love the show too.

Being part of Time Bandits was a wild experience, had my own stunt double, attended an opening ceremony featuring traditional indigenous dancing, was dressed as goofily as possible, stressed about improvising in front of Jemaine and Taika, and shared it all with the other Greeks they shipped in from Australia!
