Here’s a little look at the title page (yes, that’s right I have my very own TITLE PAGE!).
The book is coming out in Australia (@penguinkidsaustralia ), the US (@rhkidsgraphic ), Canada (@tundrabooks ) and the UK (also Penguin) all at the same time, which is absolutely mind-boggling. Thank you to @annabelbarkeragency and @danlazaragent for repping this anxious & awkward cartoonist.
Publication date is still not until 10 February 2026 but preorders are great for authors, as it can show the publisher and bookstores that folks are keen for the book.

That’s right, folks — I’m taking this book show on the road (and by ‘road’, I mean ‘air’)! This evening I’ll be zooming through the clouds towards the Great White North to share the good word about Oh Brother and Australian comics. Right now I’m doing my final pack — my packing style hasn’t changed much over the years (pictured).
I’ve never been to Canada before but it’s been on my travel wishlist for years, so I can’t wait to visit (and try all the different Canadian-themed snacks — please let me know what I need to try while I’m there).
I’m particularly excited to be appearing at both @fbdm_mtl and @torontocomics — hopefully I can sell all my books so I can bring home lots of Canadian comics gems.
So tell all your Canada-based pals to follow along on my adventures and come say hi if I visit one of their cities (my itinerary takes in Montreal, Ottawa, Calgary, Vancouver and Toronto)!

In the evenings, once my brains have turned to mush for the day after sending out a bazillion book tour emails, I’ve been treating myself to some fun crafting time in front of the TV (current comfort show of choice: The Brokenwood Mysteries).
One of the resulting craft projects was this very wonky felt Gina (teen Gina as seen in Oh Brother, not current adult Gina — admittedly the only real difference is my hair).
I have these newly-gained felt toy making skills thanks to a super fun workshop with the delightful @cat_rabbit early last year.
I think felt Gina will be a good travelling companion for all of the book tour events this year.

🎉 Junior Library Guild pin 🎉
Did you know that Oh Brother was officially selected for the Junior Library Guild Gold Standard Selection?!
Very excitingly, my official Junior Library Guild pin arrived in the post the other day. I know awards and accolades are super subjective but it really did mean a lot to me to have Oh Brother selected by the JLG for their Gold Standard Selection.
I don’t often feel proud about my work, but receiving a physical pin (not just an email) really made me proud of sticking at the project (even though it took a looooooong time) and seeing the book through to publication.
It means a lot to me that others (specifically, in this case, librarians and educators) are connecting with the book and think it’s worth celebrating and sharing.
Thanks @jrlibraryguild for this honour!

💤 Sorry for the radio silence 💤
It’s been a busy couple of months post-book release. In the past two months I’ve been in four different states, done 10 book launch events, visited 21 bookstores & 6 libraries, been on 3 podcasts & 2 radio shows, done interviews, written opinion pieces, had 2 colds, crocheted, like, 10 jumpers and visited many, many op shops (my treat to myself whenever I do an event is to wind-down with an op shop trip).
With all that, I’m one tired little Rex (hence why you haven’t heard from me much lately). I’ve been recharging the batteries and I’ve finally got enough vim to catch up on a few things that have been happening (as well as some very exciting travel things coming up over the next month!).
