First week in Rio has been more than a dream.
One thing I’ve learned so far is that the beach is a central playground that allows for anyone despite income or status to come and enjoy, forcing people to interact with one another and ultimately helping even the playing field. Exchanging wisdom, laughs, and space with one another. I’m extremely grateful for the little community I’m building for myself here.

2016… one of the best years of my life. I’d gotten my first major recurring role on tv. It was a period piece portraying William “Billy” Lee on Turn:Washington’s Spies. I had the opportunity to work with some fantastic actors and to be treated so well by the cast and crew. I also got my first chair with my name on it!
We filmed in Virginia so my mom and grandma and cousins got to come visit me and see what it was like on a tv set.
I got to wear dope costumes, I rode a horse, I got to learn about the history of a slave that didn’t work in a field. Most of all, 2016 confirmed to me that I was living in my purpose.

The people, the energy, the minding your business, the food, the ease in making conversation, the example of true diversity, the bodegas, the chop cheeses, the Washington Heights, the subways, the friendships, the coincidences, the friendships, the parties, the dancing, the variety of thoughts and conversations, the theater, the pizza, the kindness.
A time I will hold on to forever.
